I always thought Bent looked like a very good player. The boo-boys at Griffin Park didn't help, nor did David W£bb. marklcfc - by comparison at the same age, Tommy Wright isn't fit to lace his boots.

He seems to either become unsettled at clubs very quickly or just enjoying touring the country playing at different grounds and building up a tidy amount of signing on fees. His agent must love him!

I dont think he helped himself a lot of the time, but will always remembers his winners against Norwich in the FA Cup and Bristol City in the play-off semi.

To answer Jezy Bee, at last count... Brentford, Palace, Port Vale, Sheffield United, Blackburn, Ipswich, Leicester and Everton makes it eight clubs for Bent, or did I miss any out?

I think Everton let him down by not being relegated: he was looking for 3 in a row after Ipswich and Leicester.

I thought he did a good job for them as their formation made the lone striker's job a fairly lonely one
