Mark Hill

Anyone remember a player from the 80s called Mark Hill? It's strange the things that stick in your memory from when you were a youngster, but for some reason I always remember a player called Mark Hill giving an interview in Shoot! magazine around 1989, after Maidstone, who he played for, had just been promoted to the Football League. He was saying he had at one time been a male model, and used to get stick from lorry drivers as he had to pull birds he had just met in the street as part of his job or something. It stuck in my mind as I'm sure he was an ex-Bee. Perhaps my memory is fading, but I'm sure it was the same player. Anyone else remember reading that interview?

Mark Hill

Wembley for obvious reasons.

He was one of Callaghan's first signings I think. Always wore strangle-knacker shorts. Why that comes to mind I don't know.

Mark Hill

Mark Hill was one of the ex-Bees who came to the BBB 80's book launch against Notts County last season.

Mark Hill

Was part of the adidas team of 8081 and stayed for about one more year after that. Took a massive step up to play for us, joining from some obscure team beginning with Q.

He's on the scoresheet in the Walsall Bees game on the Beestube thingy.

Mark Hill

A sturdy , steady full-back, who had a strong shot , as typified by the goal Chorlton Bee refers to .
A decent crosser of a ball, too.
I recall seeing him in an unfamiliar left -wing role for the Bees in a 1-1 draw at Southend, in March 1982 ,when he ran down the flank and hit an absolute peach of a cross for David Kemp to powerfully head home.

I was at that game. Took a few slaps on the way back to the station. The highlights were on MotD.

What you get up to, in your after game antics, isn't appropriate for a message board like the GPG. Maybe a 'fetish' site is more to your inappropriate behaviour. Some one filmed it too?! Weirdos. :moo:

he loved his McDonalds...

Haha a friend of mine told me that you had gone nasty after becoming a bullying Mod. He's not wrong!

He scored at both ends that day , the og a lovely 25 yard lob over paul mculloch, dave crown was red hot that day if i remember.Had a decent drink in the saddlers bar before the match though.

Mark Hill

I had it in my head that Paddy Roach was in goal that day. Probably wrong though and memory playing tricks on me.

Nope. Roche joined the following season. Think it was McCullough and before McKellar joined for his brief stay.

It was announced on the 'video-printer' as Walsall 3 - 2 Brentford, after the credits of Grandstand went up a voiceover said "and we've got a correction to make....Division 3 game between Walsall & Brentford finished 3-2 to Brentford.......and that match will be shown on Match of The Day tonight" If I hadn't been 12 at the time I'd have sworn I was tripping or a 'Gotcha' victim before Noel House Party existed! "MUM!!!! GUESS WHAT!?...." A feeling akin to passing my driving test and busting me cherry "things just don't feel this good normally THANK YOU GOD!!"

Mark Hill

Yes, you're right. Just looked at Roche's wiki and he didn't sign until 82.

McCullogh is the worst keeper I've ever seen for Brentford, worse than Bayes. I remember a Braemar lynch mob under the stand waiting for him after one 4-0 drubbing.

Poor **** was a replacement for the much loved Len Bond. From one of the best to, yes, the worst.

Mark Hill

Kamikaze Kid. Awful keeper but thrown in far too soon as was Ashley.

Mark Hill is a lovely man who really enjoyed his visit to GP for the book launch.

He runs major events for a global consumer electronics company
