Mark Peters?

I know it probably been brought up again in a previous post, but when will Mark Peters be given a run in the team. Is there a reason why he hasn't been given a run. Can anyone provide any inside info.

I think, and will so until he gets a chance, that Peters can still fire us the table and provide that killer instict. He is the only real natural finisher at the club whohas confidence. And from the reserve reports, it sounds like he can score from distance which we are lacking (we haven't scored one goal in the league from outside the box!).

I know the service to he midfield has not been good enough to judge our strikers, but Peters might spark something. We could try Peters and Mark Mc upfront, with Vine just behind them, since Vine is always trying to find a through ball to another striker.

Please at least give Peters a chance - he is playing regular reserve team football and no doubt has just as much claim as any other striker, but with a very good record. I think him starting at least five matches will allow us to see whether he could make the grade.

I am sure he will be given a chance one day. He looks good, maybe best to wait until Rowlands gets the delivery from midfield improved.

I'll second that.Give the lad a chance.

Come on you Bees.

Mark Peters?

Wally knows whether there's any point playing him and if he says there are better options then I'm happy with that. There's no point playing him if it's just to satisfy the curiousity of a few supporters!

Mark Peters?

Looked a bit weighty to me, wonder if he's fully fit??

Given his size he is going to have to play alongside a big striker like Marky Mac in this division and hence displace Vine..can't see that at the moment. I think I'd trust wally's judgement on him at the moment.

From Wally's interview on Beesworld I think we will see Tabb and Rowly sooner than Peters.

Mark Peters?

I'm with andyrew on this one. None of us know what he can do as well as Wally. And Wally has demonstrated to us that he knows what he's doing.

Mark Peters?

In the 15 minutes he played against Port Vale, he looked more likely to do something than Mark Williams did for the whole of the second half yesterday.

Dont get me started on Hunty and Kev o Connor who have between them failed to score an outfield goal of any significance all season.

I suppose we're all happy with continuous non scoring affairs at home- maybe when our home crowds dip below 5000 we will start to wonder why.

I'm sure Wally knows best (or am I) but surely trying something different at home cant harm can it.

Peters hasnt been given a fair crack of the whip .End of

Peters has demonstrated in he reserves that he can finish however I do not feel that he is best suited to Wally's style of play - high tempo and high energy.

He is a classic goalhanger but does not do any of the things required of a modern day forward - holding the ball up, tackling back, covering runs, making aerial challenges etc.

I think he is probably a luxury we cannot afford and for pure footballing reasons without any consideration of any alleged off the field incidents I feel that he will be another player who nevers fulfills his promise and is likely to leave the club without ever getting a first team run.

With respect, when we cannot score at home except from penalties I would suggest that a player who only tackles back, makes covering runs, makes aeriel challenges etc but NEVER scores is actually the luxury we cant afford.

It's goals that win matches and as you rightly say, Peters has shown he can finish.

I think we're getting things arse about face here. Lets get some F****g goalscorers in the team for gawds sake.

Mark Peters?

He was very highly rated at Southampton. According to several fans, he 'scored goals for fun'.

When he came on the other week, he looked ok, but then he was only on 15 minutes.

We have a good defence, the midfield is iffy so why not start him with Vine and Mac?

Mark Peters?

why not put Vine on the left Patrick Aygemang stylee and Mac and Peters upfront?

Mark Peters?

wally obviously is undecided about peters and constantine
and seems more likely to bring in a readymade striker such as willock than
turn to either of them

currently-if it was me-even if we weren't starting with peters i'd put him on the bench for all games as in friendly and reserve matches he has demonstrated an ability to create something from nothing

i'd like to see peters alongside vine but i think that wally would more likely
pair him with macammon

If this is the case why is he on our books ?

As for the goalhanger comment, I would be content with him doing that if scored in every game. Look at Cureton he has made a living out of doing this

Peters reputation seems largely based on what he did for the youth team at Southampton, a big jump to Div2.

As far as I can see he hasn't set (yet?) set the reserves alight so can't see why he should be given a run in the first team.

Still "one for the future" I suspect.

seems sensible to me

couldn't really see vine+peters together, so are people really advocating dropping rowan vine for an unknown with a hyped reputation??

sod peters - he looks like he is 5 stone overweight - what about giving constantine a run in the team

cos my subbuteo finger's got more power than one of his shots.

1 hattrick and he gets a contract. sheesh...

you can tell who's class by how/if they stand out in the reserves.

Rob Traynor will come thru soon. Williams don't stand out at all.

Mark Peters?

Peters or Constantine might get their chance if Mr hot head Vine doesn't cool it on the card front.

Peter's is too short to partner with Vine in the current system we are playing. Mac is the target man. I wouldn't mind seeing Leon on the bench again tho - he was useful at baaaaadiff which IMHO was one of our best performances of the season despite the result.

I'm more worried about the midfield anyway - that's the reason we can't score!!

Here, Here!!
We are currently expecting forwards to score when living on scraps. The supply needs to be better in order to obtain more clear cut chances. More chances should = more goals.

Mark Peters?

it doesn't matter what permutation we have up front
strikers can't score goals if they don't get the ball or if the supply line is poor

i think martin rowlands imminent return to action will better
help us evaluate the qualities of the available strikers

we created so little in the home games against oldham, luton
and port vale when a front line of forster, o'mara and owusu would have struggled to find a goal.

this area of brentford's game has to improve if we are to achieve anything this season

And then be very successful at another, probably 1st division, club.

Story of our life.

Mark Peters?

But don't worry because once Peters goes elsewhere we can rlely on McCammon to run around like a headless chicken chasing the non exisent balls that Fullerton plays to him.Get rid of the pair of them.

Lanky Leo and Porky Peters up front?

How about trying this out in the LDV game at Plymouth?
