An interesting move, probably shows how far down the pecking order he is.

I guess the plan is that he goes to Aldershot and scores bags of goals, then we can either sell him, or put him back in our team full of confidence.

If I was a betting man I would guess that this is the end for Peters as a Brentford player and we won't see him back at the club again.

If so I wish him well and hope he gets his career back on track.

The way he was banging them in at pre season didn't look like a lack of confidence to me, any drop in confidence he may have suffered is probably down to the man management of one person :(

Does he train with aldershot or does he train with us. I don't see how only training two evenings a week is going to do him any good at all..how does that work then?

I do think however that considering he has sat on the bench for two years when the players picked in front of him were crap is not exactly a good sign for him no matter how well he does at aldershot!

You could be right, I don't think he is what Wally wants as a striker, not versatile enough for one.

I thought the comment Peters wrote on the Shots message board ( if it was him) shows perhaps that he hasn't the desire or attitude to work at being a pro football player. May be doing him an injustice but I think the signs have been there.

Yes, if that really was Peters, I don't hold out much hope. If I don't score a few for you, so what, I'll go and play in a pub team! You have to really want it, Mark. Look at the attitude displayed by, eg, Matty Somner.

I'm assuming that what went on the Shots website was a joke written by someone else. It reflects how others view his attitude, whether or not that is a fair reflection of what he is thinking himself.

It's funny how this thread started with a joke about a Rushden player called Mark Peters moving on, and has now come true with respect to our own MP

I will say that if I was Mark Peters and everything I've read has some basis in fact, I'm not sure I'd be eager to return here under Mr Downes.

As I understand it: Bangs in a couple of goals in pre-season only to find that the manager doesn't like him (thinks he's a 'weirdo', or something like that, as I remember reading). Team is openly desperate to find multiple strikers instead of him despite him never getting a meaningful run in meaningful games.

Not arguing for or against MP as a player, but you could imagine how this would affect your confidence and affection for Brentford.

Good luck in your loan spell at the Shots Mark. Hope you get a run in the side and bang in a few goals. Hopefully some of us might get down to the Rec and see a few of them, as due to a certain Wally we have been denied the opportunity at Brentford :rolleyes:

Well it's a great idea sending him out to play some games while we have Wright & May here, because he isn't going to get a game at GP and if we get some money towards his £200 a week all the better.

Hope he scores an assload of goals and comes back here ready to carry it on when the loan rangers clear off back up the league...

Still think Peters can score goals in Div.2 if he gets himself up for it ! I heard Blackman may be going on loan as well, anyone else heard this,Scarborough I think. Maybe Wally is priming them for when May ,Rougier and Wright go back !

i agree-i know mark can do a job for this club if he gets a run of games.wright wont be here forever and when he goes a peters fresh from scoring in the conferance will be useful and would let us get a loanee in midfield.

Spot on ! It aint as if our 'permanent' strikers are missing stacks of sitters. A midfielder to create a few sitters would be nice! Stick at it MP prove em wrong .

I will be down there on Tuesday night for the Aldershot - Farnborough DERBY match. Will be a good game to watch with a big crowd.

Just wondered... we know Mark didn't have a run in the first team... Anyone know how many games he played and goals he scored for the reserves while he was here?

Incidently how does the loan system work in our division.
Is it a set number of days for the season?
