I wonder whether the questioning on here had anything to do with the statement. Seems a coincidence.

I didn't think Directors or members of staff or players were allowed to read the GPG. :fishing:

Good post and I would also add wood being left out at Wembley was a shameful thing.

And also Kev O'Connor. He would have died for Brentford that day and left nothing behind on the pitch....but with MW conacts at Leicester Schluup and Neilson started. Neilson starting over Kev even though he clearly wasnt fit.

I bet he wouldn't have.

figure of speech. but there wouldnt have been a player in the squad who wanted to play more.

as for MW article. he is clearly responding to this thread and i dont buy all of it. For me i would believe it if i heard UR comment of MW job and how 'well' they work together.

The fact MW has come out and said something means nothing to me. He can say what he wants as he is MB's mate and is untouchable compared to Rosler.

The truth is we will never no if MW is disruptive or causing UR problems as the only person who could tell us is Rosler himself (or 1 of the players maybe). Either way if Rosler came out and said this he would be sacked so he obviously will just keep his mouth shut, do what he can with BFC and get paid for it. Whilst MW controls more than he lets on.

If you saw late kick when Uwe was on, you would've heard him say just that.

Mark Warburton Thread

UR said on that. Late kick off show the other week that BFC was the perfect club for him (or similar) so would suggest he's ok with the status quo at GP ?

Common knowledge that he is one of MB'S best mate's....what would you say in similair situation?
Watford knob?

Given Bentham and Warburton's links north of the border, we could be seeing a couple of Celtic youths coming our way on loan in the next few years, and since their U-15s won a major tournament a day or so ago against Chelsea, West Ham, Newcastle aqnd a bunch of other clubs (and their older colleagues played fairly well in the NextGen tournament) that may be no bad thing...

Also, I wonder if we'll see any ex-Gers youth players heading in our direction next season?

Good question. The older players used to get on okay in the 60s (John Greig I think was friendly with a number of Celts outside the matches, for example) and of course Ronnie Simpson has a number of friends in the Gers camp, in part through his father having been a Rangers player.

I think that Rangers having changed their blinkered anti-Catholic policy will also have made a difference these days. However, young players at both clubs may not have been able to move on from the traditional antipathy between the two clubs and recognise that the other side's players are human and likeable.

Anyway, it was only a thought by me and it may never come to pass...

Would hope MB could sell him Brentford over WBA. Tough one though.

Mark Warburton Thread

Not sure if it would have much affect on the first team.Might free up some money for our promotion push.

Also, hopefully the prospect of working with Saddo Berahino again may put him off.

Doesn't he work PT for us and PT for the U19 Champions League, that might be a lot to give up but who knows.

This isn't like a situation where a player might go because of the financial rewards and to play at the highest level. I doubt that money is an issue here and it would boil down to what the challenges are plus a very significant consideration re disruption to family life. I would have thought that what MB wants to achieve here and being part of that vision is a huge motivator for Warbs plus not wishing to disrupt domestic matters. Let's hope he stays.

Mark Warburton Thread

I doubt he's going to turn down the chance to work in the Pl when one signing could potentially get his name put out there and next thing you know he's the next super scout

Depends what he wants out of life and whether ego drives him [ I doubt it]. I'm sure he's financially secure.

Not very well I would imagine, I thought Warburton was supposed to survive managerial changes so there is little rebuilding if a new gaffer comes in.

yes, that would be a twist in the tail and against the master plan. if he went he would take forrester etc with him sooner or later.

hope its not true but we are a small, selling club and everyone moves on sooner or later : some through the front door, most the back door.

if it is true, it would be a no brainer for him.

Mark Warburton Thread

If this is true, it will, I imagine, be extremely tempting for him.
And, if he should go, it would be a blow for us, but, hopefully, one that we could cope with.
It is acompliment to Mark, and our club, and, if we continue to build towards success, it is the kind of thing we might have to get used to.
Much better than having a payroll full of people that nobody else wants!

Fantastic opportunity to take Dan Ashworth's job but perhaps the freedom to combine his role at BFC with his Next Gen role might trump it.

Also dont MB and MW go back a long way?
Loyalty to a friend as well as a business colleague might persuade him to stay. Not only that who in their right mind would want to work/live in West Brom. It makes Brentford look like Hollywood!

Mark Warburton Thread

I believe he would be very difficult to replace as I think the execution of MB's vision for the future of BFC is his. It is, though, a tempting offer (if true... but he's not an immigrant stealing an Englisman's job, so there's little other reason for the Mail to report it) so let's hope the Brentford vision is stronger than the Baggies' vision.

Mark Warburton Thread

He's only part-time isn't he? Might not want a full-time job at the mo...

Mark Warburton Thread

Let's hope with the club announcing the building of a new indoor training facility at Uxbridge High School and the partnership starting with them next year, with the academy players going to school there too, that this vision of MB's is what Mark Warburton wants a piece of. If not, then I'm sure MB has other potential sporting directors on file, who'd like to step up and be part of a new set up and see the potential youth players start for the Bees in a new stadium come 2016..

One thing that occured to me today..........Watford and Palace are both having very good seasons, they are both noted for their production line of talent and have produced players for a fair while now, they have both been on the brink financially recently and would have been two of the favourites to go down this season. I know Watford are doing it differently at the mo but it gives me great hope that we will be in a good position once the academy starts to produce. I'll go away now.

And it also sends out a really strong message, about the foundations that have been laid by Matthew Benham , Uwe, the Board, and, indeed Mark Warburton himself

Great to see he's so much into this 'project'. Obviously his links to Benham have really helped with this. We really do have good people behind the scenes.
