MA's Update

Well yes I threw my toys out of the pram Monday and still this morning was struggling to come to terms with the weeks events. Having just watched Martin Allen's update though has hit my emotions just as much. I believed Monday was the begining of the end and that Allen would follow the 3 players out of the door.

Instead thanks to todays Chronicle and Martins update I can see how difficult the decision was and that Martin has obviously been to Hell and back through transfer deadline day. By the sounds of it many others could have gone too.

If people consider my actions and words previously as disloyal, I don't care they were driven by the passion that is my loyalty.

I'm still gutted but support Martin and the team 100%.

MA's Update

is anyone up for doing some sought of banner to really show martin we are in support of him and the team. i know the best way to do this is with our vocal support but wouldnt it be nice for martin to see banners with positive messsges on other than the ones that come out when things go wrong ala newcastle

Not sure if its allowed, no doubt it will be removed if not !!

Knows fans are dissapointed. He is also as are the players.
-No one player bigger than the club
-Club can now move forward and improve (ground)
-He pushed the deal as far as he could to get the best possible
-He is knackered
-Had enquiries on Tuesday about other players not just DJ and Sam
-Made promises to players that they would be able to improve themselves.
-Felt if hes prevented the move the players would have questioned these - promises -rightly so.
-Could have brought othersi n but spending isn't always the right thing Creates cliques and disharmony - which we dont have.
-Need to get back on our bikes now.
-League is on our own hands
-Much younger and stronger squad than last year
-Cant let one departure affect season
-Hopes we understand
-He is still disappointed

MA's Update

Worth the Bees world subscription alone, absolutely superb.

Liked the way he didn't mention DJ's name, as that was in the history of BFC, tomorrow and Saturday is the future:sorted:

Come on lads this man deserves 10,000 people at GP on Saturday:wave:

MA's Update

I would have thought that given what's gone on over the last few days the club could have made MA'a Update available to all who want to see it, not just to BeesWorld subscribers (I do subscribe btw). Gets the message out to the masses.

MA's Update

This is turning into another DJ/Sam gone thread :banghead:

Please restrict yourself to the subject of Martin Bees World update today. Posts that do not have a direct connection to the thread title may be deleted or moved depending on the moderator's mood at the time :D

:imwith:

If there's one update that should be accesible to everyone, that one is. Maybe there just strapped for cash, and you'll have to pay for everything now, but if this is not the case surely they should make the other updates BW, and not this one.

MA's Update

Righto, just removed a bundle of posts from this thread - they must be restored later to their correct home.

Everyone, we have plenty of threads to choose from for the DJ and Sam subjects - let's please please try and keep this one on topic.

Thanks everyone

MA's Update

If the last few days are anything to go by, what is the reaction going to be like when the day MA finally leaves (hopefully years off yet), the man is an absolute legend.

Us 5,000 bankers owe him, Sammy and everybody else a very special welcome on Saturday.

Wouldn't it be nice if the harmony in the squad filtered through to the terraces and we gave everybody our support?

MA's Update

Very good update, MA is right how could he have gone against his word when he's said all along he wants his players to progress to a higher standard

Totally agree, should also play it over the tannoy system before the game:wave:

MA's Update

I have nothing but admiration and respect for MA, this updates just confirms what a pragmatic genius we have as a "leader".

If someone can shake is hand on my behalf when they see him, then I would appreciate that.

Another quick point, whilst Im here, a receptionist at the Health Centre I work at Glasgow came up to me today and said "I've heard nothing but your team in the news this week, it is your brentford isnt it?!". She is a Glasgwegian through and through, she is in her 50s, she hates sport (period), she would not entertain sports conversation, yet she has noticed us this week!

MA's Update

MA - wasted at Brentford?

I know I should just add these comments to the existing thread on the subject of MA's update on Bees World today. However, I can just imagine the blood rising in people's heads when they see the thread title, so I couldn't resist...

The point I have is not just that Martin is wasted at li'l old Brentford - he is wasted being a football manager. Few politicians are able to give a four-minute, unscripted speech straight to camera without rambling, stumbling and generally being an ass. The fact that what Martin had to do was to pacify and reassure people who were angry, confused and disappointed made it all the harder.

Can you imagine what George W's speech in those circumstances would be like, if he were a sports team manager? Even Blair, who is, regardless of what you think of him, an excellent orator and able to think on his feet, would not have found it easy to do better than Allen. The key point is that you feel you can trust him. He is evidently a man of integrity and passion. Given that success in politics, or as a figurehead, depends almost entirely on public image rather than boring things like policy, I think MA would be a great success in public office. I'm sure if he had to face the cameras to talk about 9/11, Iraq or whatever, he would do just as good a job as he did talking about a fork-list truck driver moving to the Midlands...

We've got an office just outside Glasgow and I have had a similar experience to. Many people there who didn't I was a Brentford fan have been mentioning it to me. It would appear that people in their office are talking about Brentford and then saying "Oh Les down south supports them". I've even had a request from a couple of guys to come and see a game when they're next down.

Weird. Never happened before.

MA's Update

The new Regime are certainly taking notice of the sentiment on GPG these days:

1. They have made the transcript of MA update available to all as suggested above, and I noticed that

2. They have added a postage and handling fee to ticket sales for the Charlton tickets.

Well done club management.

MA's Update

It is now up to the fans and players to make a statement on Saturday:

1. Crowd of at least 7,000 to turn up and roar on their support for MA and the players

2. The players to play their hearts out, as if its a cup game, win the 3 points, and show us all that we can still score goals without the wonderkid!

Come on you Bees.

How dare they take the sting out of the GPG :(

:D

MA's Update

I too am guilty of throwing toys out of pram but in the cold light of day realise its the right thing to do and you cant hold people back

what a genuine and honest leader we have

would be interested to know more about this "third party" that interfered and has quite visably pi55ed off martin (and the player it involves)
illegal approach maybe ? by an agent :nono:
supose we will never know

campbell gone from my fifa 06 squad but it wont let me sign willock as hes 34 and due to retire rofl lol

MA's Update

Excellent update from MA. Top man! He sounds suspiciously like someone who actually likes being at Brentford and is genuinely committed long term. Hope I don't live to regret saying that. Players can't fail to be inspired, I'd love to be a fly on the wall for a pre match team talk.

MA's Update

What's that big book in front of him? Reading from the gospel of football, life and everything according to Martin???

MA's Update

that was a "call to arms" I am going to do My damdest to be there on saturday to give Him and the team My support.

MA's Update

fighting illness to get there, nothing a few stellas wont fix. even if we dont get the bumper crowd its up to everyone of us there to show our maximum support, sing your hearts out for the lads

MA's Update

Spoke to him at the training ground today - he's very concerned that everyone understands that it wouldn't have been right to stand in DJ's way - he'd still rather have DJ though!

He definitely thinks that Willock will be good for us :sorted:

MA's Update

Is there any possibility of a transcript of Martin's update being printed off and handed out to supporters at GP on Saturday ? (assuming it's not in the programme already)

This bloke will go down in football history !

MA's Update

Wow! Don't you just love this man? What an inspirational guy he is. He could make you run through brick walls. No surprise that our team puts in so much effort.

They should print it word for word in the programme, however you really have to listen to him to really hear the passion and pride in his voice.

Get all your friends there Saturday:hat:

MA's Update

Superb update from MA (despite the fact he looked rather too disappointed for me), but I think we now need to draw a line under the whole saga and get a few things straight.
1. DJ Campbell was 'on fire' at the moment but every striker thrives on confidence and every striker has a lean spell - he is very very raw and would have had a lull before the end of the season.
2. He had immense potential but had he gone at the end of the season we'd have got nothing.
3. He told me on Saturday he was a Rangers fan.
4. We may have all slightly over reacted to his departure in a Princess Diana kind of way. The fact that he left so soon after one of the greatest days in the club's history somehow made it all the more painful, but had he gone a fortnight later after maybe not scoring, would there have been so much gnashing of teeth.
5. Willock has always caused us problems when we've played against him and it might even be a blessing to 'freshen up' the squad midway through the season.
6. He told me he was a Rangers fan.
7. He told me he was a Rangers fan.
It's vital that everyone gets to the Walsall game and creates the same kind of atmosphere to send out a message to the nation - who will be watching to see if the departure makes any difference - that we have a squad of very very good players here who are still on track for the Championship.

MA's Update

Just watched MA's video unbelievable stuff.

In a weird way I feel that this whole saga may just galvanise the whole club from director's, players and supporters for that one last massive push.

Maybe lil ol Brentford's time is coming.

Let's be avin ya!

MA's Update

Indeed Bundesbee, Someone somewhere within the 3,000 posts of the last couple of days made what to me was a very valid point -- it makes the other lads in the squad sit up and take notice... they know that if they work hard they TOO could go on to bigger and better things (we know its not better but other less educated people may think so  ).

MA's Update

this is Havelockbee's other half here....having had my tin helmet on and keeping my head down for the past couple of days (yes -he did throw his toys out the pram!), I can only be encouraged that BFC have their ups and downs but as noted by Martin Allen - we are a team - not just the players and the board but fans also, and we must pull together and make our voices heard to the rest of the footballing world, that we stand with them, behind them and we will overcome those downers that we seem to cross, The Griffin Park voices will roar like lions and fly like birds and stand tall.......it's my b'day Saturday and as much as havelock Bee says he will spend the day with me - I would rather him stand with you all and be proud - his loyalty does throw tantrums - but that is waht you should expect from a loyal supporter. Keep up the good work BFC - for we have come so far and have further to go.
Havelockbees other half! P.S. Thanks Martin for saving me - the tin helmet is off and the toys are back in the pram

MA's Update

You have got the same name as your other half! Must get confusing during carnal activities

MA's Update

before scotland games at hampden they play some of the spoken sound track from braveheart...i find that quite amusing but what the....

maybe on this occassion martins' speech should be aired prior to kick off...though i beleive GP will not need stoking on saturday, his pride, passion and sentiment need to be shared as a way of harmonising the spirit MA has.

I have said it before and will say it again, if someone would shajke his hand from glasgowbee, then that would make me a proud bee and a proud man

we indeed fortunate

MA's Update

To be a real top boss in any walk of life you have to be able to stand up and be counted and MA has not let us down.
Fair play to the man, another example of leadership from the front.

MA's Update

Dear Mrs Havelock,

I will continue to do my best to make your hubby a nicer bee to live with.

Always happy to act as his punchbag on the end of the mobile phone when we have our begginning of day bees update and end of day drive home bees update.

It's certainly been a strange week, as Vinny the hod carrier Jones said -
"Its been emotional"
