Melbourne Bees

Melbourne Bees

yes, we are legion, ****ing everywhere, like flies, but bees.

(about 5)

Melbourne Bees

I used to live at Melbourne Avenue in West Ealing. Does that count?

Melbourne Bees

There was about 5-10 of us at the Charles dickens pub for the Chelsea and Yeovil games. There are a few more deep undercover.
We haven't caught up for a while, however I did bump into CarriBeeUn at the local bowling club recently - an interesting afternoon!

Melbourne Bees

There used to be 6 of us between a few houses behind Smith Street in Fitzroy but most have moved away now. Think there is still a couple living in moonee ponds. There may even be a bees shirt still up on the wall of McMahons hotel up the top of Spencer Street

I work in Moonee Ponds, shocking place :) met a few bees fans on nights out around South Yarra

We should organize a gathering for the next bees tv game (Not the Fulham game)

Melbourne Bees

Quite obviously the Western Bulldogs. where else?

Can't watch the A-league without getting depressed. Fully emersed in AFL to cover the loss.

Melbourne Bees

OK. Which AFL teams do you reach support?

It should really be a Freo fan as they were the first team I saw play and win but my walk to work took me past North Melbourne's training ground on Arden Street so I supported the local team. Getting better year on year but I always took flack supporting them

Melbourne Bees

I was one of the elite Melbourne Bees squad at the Charles Dickens for the Chelsea game. Was a good night. I'm now safely back in blighty and will be at GP on Friday.

Good to see Carri Bee Un and Gez Oz still around but where's 237 Bee ?

I "barrack" for the Saints in the afl, because they play in red and white, and have been thoroughly disappointing every year except 1966.

In the real football I am member of Melbourne Victory. The A League standard has improved considerably (from a very low base). Home games are fairly entertaining especially when we play the more fanatical teams e.g. West Sydney and Adelaide. Away games are fantastic, I've done Adelaide, Gold Coast, and Brisbane, it certainly beats Rotherham or Gillingham.

No interest in the other codes.

I agree with the standard of the a league improving, I used to go for GCU (was living up there) until they went bust and changed to the Heart. The league needs more teams. Its pretty funny seeing players pop up that couldn't hack it in the lower leagues anymore like Jamie Young, Dean Bouzanis etc

Yeah there are some very average players in the league, however this does contribute to the league's unique charm. Unlike European football where most players are of similar ability (due to active transfer markets and promotion / relegation) the A League has a huge gulf in class between the best and worst players. The best plays are generally international marquees in attacking roles (e.g. Villa, Del Pierro, Broich), who can contribute to high scoring games against mediocre defences.

On a seperate topic what is the point of Melbourne Heart/ City? : )

Melbourne Bees

How are you all watching the game tomorrow morning? I'm relying on Vodafone holding up from Springvale athletics track.

Melbourne Bees

Down at cape paterson....a lunchtime session at the pub is in order after tonights happenings

A West Ham fan told me today that the headmaster of Scotch College is Brentford, and at some previous juncture was headmaster of Eton. I am almost entirely sure this story is apocryphal, unless anyone wants to own up.
