Even without seeing him that is a steal. Having had him play in the PL he’s already worth double that.

There’s no way we won’t be signing him permanently. He’s probably already worth £5m more than the price we’ve agreed for him and his value will double next season.

He’s got everything in the locker to be a world class RB. Only a matter of time before he’s called up for Italy.

I hope we sign MK. There is nothing anywhere about a contract. So just an option. The word option is just that, a choice to buy or not. What would cause BFC to choose not to sign MK? Maybe because he did not perform to a required standard, or maybe because they decided that after seeing him play, and train even though he was OK the price was set a a price above that which they were prepared to pay. So why take him on loan? The purpose of the loan is to have a closer look at the player before signing. FFC receive a loan fee their player who was not a regular starter who gets to experience Premier League football. On the other hand it could just be way of avoiding Tax or financial fair play. I have seen nothing including your attachment that says we are contracted to sign MK. That said I think that we will.

We’ve done this a few times before on the GPG. If there’s a contract to loan a player and to buy him at a future date, then all must be booked in the accounts at the date that contract was made because it’s a financial commitment. If a loan contract specifies a transfer price as an option, then only the loan fee is booked.

But the parties may have a gentlemans’ agreement that’s not contractual but no-one would break the agreement because of reputational damage. That’s how it works. So the actual transfer will be booked in another FY. As with Raya.

My guess is like Toney his height at 18 was in the dataset for FIFA/Championship Manager, they never bothered to update that field and people just take the info and recycle it even after the player grew.

Could easily be right, and to be honest - staggering, because for one of the FIFA's i was actually part of the team that looked at Brentford's team data, informed new signings, changes and evidence of playing style etc. Any new transfers, in or out, were sent to the team within only a few minutes. Surprising it would be overlooked.

I am fully aware of all you say. If you read my post thoroughly you note that I say that in all that has been published there has never been a mention of a contract or implication of Raya style gentleman’s agreement. There may well one of these things in place, indeed I state so in my last post. When this loan was first announced for several weeks afterwards some of the Italian press were reporting that they expected MK to return and there was much discussion on this site about those reports. I was quite clear that I did not believe that to be true, however, that is indicative that nothing about the loan had been published. Some on this site appear to believe that an option is in someway contractual, it is not.
All this is now academic as Banana has stated that MK will sign and that is all I have ever been interested in, as my main posts made clear.

Dodo was keeping him out of the side, he's also been having a brilliant season...arguably their best player.
I'm sure there was a conversation had between MK and Fiorentina about not wanting his development to be stalled due to lack of playing time etc, and here we are now.

I don’t think it was a case of Fiorentina wanting MK out. It was more the persistence of BFC over three windows that eventually saw them weaken. Clearly they have priced him accordingly, and we think that he is worth it as our inside knowledge says he is signing. Another brilliant piece of work by PG, and company. These are good days! Whose next?
