Last night there was a number of time Collins played the ball to him, instead of taking a run forward he passed it back to Collins. I thought last night set up was for him to attack down the line not pass the ball back
There were long periods like that against Leeds, too. Against teams that set up to stop us progressing wide (or play wide overloads themselves) going on forays up the wings without supporting players has a huge risk of turnovers. Against teams like City, it’s best to retain possession and choose the moments carefully.

It is a day for a casual observer to note the Exocet throws and his unpredictability when going forwards - or diagonally - but he is such a good defender.

Press reports today saying Juve want him in the summer. I never ever thought you’d find me saying something like this, but I don’t think there’s any team in the Italian league that could afford him.
I said about 8 weeks ago that MB/PG should improve his contract to ward off other teams, I’m sure he’s probably admired throughout Europe

Will be suspended for the Everton game if he picks up a yellow tonight. Would be his first prem game missed this season, he has played every minute so far
He’s been taken off a couple of times for a few minutes at end of a match

I think teams have worked him out a bit, and they double up on him when he tries to run with the ball.
We were saying that last night. When he started the diagonal cut in runs he was able to travel distance quickly. Teams seen to be getting wiser to that and now probably see it as an opportunity to win the ball back high up the pitch.

Thought he struggled in the first half. Much better second half.

Those long, crazy runs were not sustainable anyway. Michael is a super defender and brilliant at bombing on up the wing.

Interesting

Might be a load of old malarkey (ie B/S) - but to even have some nothing source saying Real want a Brentford player is amazing. Unbelievable. Who'd have thought it even a year ago?
Thank you Mr B for backing this 'real' promotion in status.
*'Little Ol' Brentford. Huh.

I'd agree, not quite it his earlier levels/best.
But he's had some tough opponents over the last few games
Agree, was up against Grealish yesterday, arguably their best player. He did ok. Set such a high bar when he came in impossible for him to perform at such high levels every game, all players have dips in form over the season. He will be back.....

Grealish is very tricky to defend against. MK had a busy game and did well IMHO. A more needed restrained performance from him.

One game isn't a dip. He was very good against Spurs and up against a very good player last night who's been back to his best this season. Having said all that, I think with the amount of energy he expends, Sunderland game might be one too many for him so I'd understand it if Hickey and Henry filled the full back spots.

Fair point, maybe dip is the wrong term. I was just comparing his recent couple of performances against his earlier games where he was off the scale. Point i was making is if you look at every player in the team they do have their less effective periods. We now have a squad where we can rest players as per your point. As long as we get the result it doesnt matter who plays.

Just one more game to push through on Weds and then I imagine he'll be getting a much needed and much deserved week and a half's rest. No need for him to even be in the squad at Hillsborough with Hickey having played fewer minutes recently and the likes of Sepp, Ethan and Benji all needing minutes.

Grealish had him on toast at times, tbh.
I wouldn't say he had him on toast: Grealish didn't really go past him, but he was certainly able to regularly create enough space for crosses. The fact is that two players are always needed to deal with Grealish as despite lacking pace, he's exceptionally tricky. For their first goal Kayode needed more help from another player, probably Henderson. He should start against Sunderland, who don't have a Grealish-type winger.
