It's easy to get carried away straight after a big match but last night I said he can become one of the world's elite full backs. In the cold light of day I'm revising this up rather than down. This guy will be recognised as the world's best right back. And I don't think it will take many years.
I've watched every Euros and World Cup in the last 50-odd years. Kayode would have held his own in any of those tournaments.

Possibly a TF future signing

Head last night:

*Don’t get carried away*
*Don’t get carried away*
*Don’t get carried away*
*Don’t get carried away*
*Don’t get carried away*

12 hours later:

“This guy will be recognised as the world's best right back”

😆

(I’m not disagreeing that is a possibility by the way)

.... Nigeria are in the playoffs next month (November)for World Cup 26... should they win against Gabon...if believe they then play the play off final in March 26... they seem to have a settled side at the moment....not sure if MK is on Chelles(coach) radar....yet.
They’ve already got a great right back in our Benji as well!

MK will be likely be called up to the Italy squad sooner rather than later anyway with performances like last night, don’t think there’s any risk of him declaring for Nigeria unless they qualify for the World Cup and Italy don’t…

... will be interesting to see which national side comes calling first.

Kerkez cost 40m so must be worth double that for starters!
believe the record ever transfer fee for a defender is around c75m. Not saying this will be broken and obviously don't want to be selling him but he will one day be sold north of £50m.

Michael Kayode

What a player.

His dribbling, his crossing, his performance in duels (does he ever lose one?), his desire, his overlaps, underlaps, his crossing. His heat maps are like a bull in a china shop. He has literally given himself a free role! He's a RB! Oh my days, what a few months he has had. He will light up the World Cup for Italy if they quali and take him. Probably the best first few months of any player I've seen for us since the 80s. An absolute joy to watch and a total beast to play against. If football ever became an hour each half he would still be bombing forward.

I'm putting the long throw tekkas to one side. Its the least of what he can do.

If you clipped up all his touches so far this season (and used all of them), it would look like the most artifical YouTube highlights reel of all time... but it would be true. All of it. Thats the highest compliment I can pay him.

Michael Kayode

Not being biased but definitely in the top 3 full backs in the PL and Kayode looked streets ahead of Liverpool's full-backs last night.
Best full-back in the PL for my money, and can launch a missile from the touchline.

Michael Kayode

I'm a bit concerned we might be docked the points from last night when the Premier League realise we were playing three of him. It's probably against the rules. I liked both the right back/right wing Kayode and the left back/left wing one but I think my favourite was his centre forward clone.

He's bonkers. And brilliant. And ours.

Michael Kayode

He has been given so much help by Henderson playing in that right DM role and stepping across to cover for him...

Because Keith has given him the freedom to express his insane talent! This guy is incredible, and unlike Kerkez who looks great bombing forward, he also defends like a Spartan. He's just the complete package.

Remember that Right Back Leicester signed, who was awful against us. He looked both class in attack and defense one minute, but then just non existent the next...

Well, that was what I thought Kayode would be like. I thought he would probably blow hot and cold.

But he isn't. He just blows hot. All game, every game. Mistakes do come, but they're rare, and so far they've been inconsequential. TBH, it's incredible that we have him at RB and then such high quality players around him in Collins, SvdB, Henderson, and Yarmo.

Genius.

Michael Kayode

Already one of my most favourite players. The fact that he's a right back (arguably the least "sexy" position on the pitch) says a huge amount about the way he plays the game, his personality on the pitch and his physical attributes. Rapidly becoming one of our most valuable players!

Michael Kayode

Been surprised at how little media attention he's got (other than for his long throws), since joining us. Particularly this season.
Really thought they'd do a focus piece on him on MotD last night after that performance.
Won't be long though I guess............

Michael Kayode

What a guy, I am worried his arms are going to fall off though with such venom in his throws

Michael Kayode

My fear is we may only see him for a short time before a big offer comes in!
No doubt, but not sure which of the “ top” clubs would let him play with the freedom that he enjoys with us. As said elsewhere we are adapting to play around him. A lot of managers are very fixed in their formations and set ups.

You have to allow risk taking with a talent like that and full marks to KA for doing that.

Michael Kayode

I said last season that he was one of the best full backs I had ever seen at Brentford and that he was destined shortly for stardom. But some people here were arguing for Hickey instead! Fine player though he is, Hickey isn't on the same class. And I don't mean that in any way as a negative regarding Hickey.

It may have started.

There was a little section right at the end of MOTD2 last night where Danny Murphy was talking about Liverpool’s woes. He highlighted the run from Michael through the whole Liverpool team.

RIP Alan. Lovely spontaneous round of applause from many in the crowd when PG announced his passing.
Off topic but yes brought a tear to
my eye. Remember those bone crunching tackles and the boomph of the ball as he struck it down the line

Most attacking full backs are known for their marauding runs down the line, MKs runs are right across the pitch!

Apart from being a lot of fun to watch they’re also a lot more controlled as a team action than MK looks. We know he’ll do them and it’s interesting to see how we rearrange to ensure there’s cover at RB when he does. I think they’re possibly more effective in 433 because it’s usually Dango who tucks back and as he’s also fast and has played FB that doesn’t leave a space for opponents to attack if they turn over possession. It must be v hard to defend against because it’s just not normal to set up to counter that sort of movement without taking someone out from the middle or pushing the LB up, both of which open more space for us.

Ajer charging up our left in more orthodox fashion stops opponents bringing their right sided players in too as that opens up a pass to our left side and MK and DO switching back to their positions while we do so.

I think the only counter is to win the ball off MK in the middle and very quickly play a through ball down the middle. But playing 433 and RW covering, our CBs are already set for that, whereas 532 has the CBs more stretched.

Yes, Danny highlighted the one from right back to left wing. Was really slagging off Liverpool team, but showed Michael’s fantastic mazy run.
