I have mentioned him on another thread. Could be an ideal replacement for Tabb imho. :sorted:

BTW it was the FA trophy.

As I've mentioned elsewhere I've seen him play (must have been about 16 or 17 at the time and looked younger- wouldn't have been out of place in the side that beat Hull at the end of last season!) and he looked really good.

On his way to Wolves it seems.
Fee of £165K if successful loan period was mentioned yesterday so again we can only dream or take a risk and pick them up while they are still novices like Tomlin I guess. Some will go on and make it, most won't but we can't afford any more deadwood so the scouting network needs to be spot on.

I think it's not so much a question of taking a risk as making sure we have good scouts whose judgment is reliable. For example Aaron McLean looked useful at Aldershot before moving to Grays but we were only interested in the fairly predictable Tim Sills, if reports are to be believed.

Agreed you put it better, what I meant.

Mr Woodward at Grays it seems is getting most of his money back that he has poured in to Grays, Mclean will cost Peterboro £100K, Kightley £165K to Wolves and I believe they have 15% sell on for Eastwood

Michael Kightly

It would have been less of a risk as Kightly had played for a couple of seasons at Southend and had looked to be a good player, albeit very small. The only risk would have been that he didn't grow up at all and stayed looking like a slender 16 year old, but that is a pretty minor risk.

told you so............

He scored for Wolves today on loan.HTF can they have him on loan from Grays?

buying him in Jan. Just like Posh have his mate Mcclean on loan and then making it a perm deal in Jan

Michael Kightly

If his loan spell is successful the talk is of a £165K deal so hence why we neevr got involved and end up with people like Folic and Wingegum.

We did get Michael Turner on loan, and Pratley...mind you that was in the good old days.

I think Grays are experts in making sure they are quids in after Eastwood. They'd let him come on loan if they knew what was in it for them not for him to see how he gets on.

I mentioned on here months back ( possibly Apr/May ) that Kightly & Poole at Grays were apparently doing the business in the Conference's top attacking side as they were then.

A Woking supporting work mate said he had not seen two better players in the Conference at that time & that they were fantastic in helping whip his lot in the Trophy final itself.
