has done well but now our own are on there way back im not fussed if he goes

And would free up some wages for alone striker which seems to be an issue. Not sure it will happen though as surely Blackpool would have a say in the matter and any clauses to the loan to be considered and I thought we might have extended the loan TBH.

I am astonished, ML has been excellent recently. I was hoping we were going to get him till end of season.

* sulks *

I agree with you Nick as I think he's a decent player although there are those who don't like him. I thought he played really well vs Charlton but there were a couple of supporters near me who were always slagging him off particularly when he misplaced a couple of passes into midfield- no acknowledgement of the otherwise excellent distribution from the back and solid display against the League's top scorers. Legge was their hero despite losing 50% of his challenges in the air and a big serving of longball. I just think injuries have pushed Uwe's budget right back and he needs to free up as much resource as he can. I really feel for Uwe and when Logan got poleaxed I began to believe Uwe was jinxed as I can't recall such a concentration of injuries. Uwe has said his priority now is filling the gaps caused by injuries. But I'm still not writing this season off-late charge into 6th place.

Llera had a cracking game Saturday and his distribution
was in the main very good. I've noticed that he shapes to go long but frequently plays short or balls on the deck
through the middle. He did it with a lot of success on Saturday and both he and Legge had their forwards in
their pocket virtually all game.
BWP took his chance well but it had an element of luck
as the player it was slid into missed it at the near post but Wright Phillips was also there. I cannot recall many occasions this year when we've had two forwards queuing up for a cross in or around the 6 yard box.
I don't think we'll miss Llera when Leon, Karleigh and Marcel are all 100% but he's been very unfairly criticised by a fair few on here and I'm not sure why.

I'm with you 100% on this statement.

Sheffield Weds signed a lad from Newcastle today on loan today? A defender any coincidence

He can play centre back. Why would Llera give up a first team spot to warm the bench [ if at all] at Wednesday? Could be bo**ox?

Miguel Llera

Will be sorry to see him go as l think he's been superb for us don't get all the moaning about his distribution which is as good as any of our defenders.

Miguel Llera

I thought he was rubbish at first - a foul or a conceded goal waiting to happen. But he's won me over. I'll be sorry to see him go and I thought he had his best game on Saturday.

Miguel Llera

It's the "permanent deal", then, that's triggered it, knowing he was only cover down here. As has been stated, there was a number who labelled him as someone who gave away cheap fouls and could not pass a ball but I think they were mistaken. It's funny how fans like to make these things up, based on a couple of isolated events, and repeat them until they must be true. In many games he was our best defender - thanks for your contribution, Miguel!

Miguel Llera

He was clumsy at times but on the whole a decent defender with the physical presence we needed in Leon's absence. Hopefully this will free up some wages to bring in a striker!

Thanks Miguel.

2 weeks wages freed up, who we signing, Pointy ? ;)

Miguel Llera

Shame to lose him but guess we can't compete financially with wednesday for a permanent deal. I'm not surprised, he was excellent against them at hillsborough. This probably means Karleigh isn't too far off and Dale Bennett might be back sooner than we thought. Legge and Eger to start on saturday i'd guess.

Miguel Llera

His passing was absolutely abysmal at times make no mistake but he stopped giving away the clumsy fouls.

I heard we were paying £200k a week!

I was thinking more that maybe we were going to extend in light of the KO and SL injuries but have chosen instead to use the funds elsewhere.... just a thought, maybe a hope!

Strange nothing on the OS particularly as the Blackpool paper says he's been recalled.

Seagull carrying the message to GP has been shot en route

His agent has confirmed he is off to SWFC. - according to twitter

Not sure about KO and Bennett. Don't think we have any say if Blackpool want to recall him, no matter how many injuries we have.

Miguel Llera

well im glad its now been confirmed. i think he was a good player for us but lets hope his leaving means we can make an announcement ourselves soon.

Spoke with KO on saturday and said 2 to 3 weeks before he's back at the earliest.

Miguel Llera

I hope that some of the freed-up budget can go to a new contract for Karleigh, too.

Fully agreed. He has certainly got better over the last 2 or 3 games that I have seen, but he was still, IMO, shocking at times in some of the earlier games, which is why I labelled him a liability, as that's what I considered him to be at that time. Now that he's settled in quite well, the big money club has managed to take him off our hands - typical!

I thought he was rubbish. Always giving away fouls, too slow, making other defenders less comfortable and crap at taking freekicks. Now he is going to one of our League 1 rivals? Ffs Brentford. Why can't we get him permanently? You don't want to go up.

Miguel Llera

I grew to like him especially when the hollywood balls were toned down but we can play 2 of our own and with 2 on the sidelines aswell hopefully nearing fitness we cant really afford so many players on the books.

I'm hoping we don't sign Bennett again and can get by with Legge and Eger until KO is back

With all due respect sir i would turn and face the pitch .

Miguel Llera

Did okay...much better in last three games. Will long remember his free kick against Colchester which finished somewhere on the housing estate behind the Ealing Road. Hopefully Eger and Legge can pick up and form decent partnership now.

Miguel Llera

Good luck Miguel. Thought he did an increasingly solid job for us at a time we needed him to.

Miguel Llera

How come other sides can recall our loans but we can't recall ours ? I seem to remember reading that we couldn't get Pim back if we wanted too ??

I think emergency loans (max of three months i.e. what Llera was here under) can have a recall clause after the fisrt 28 days.

Half season and season long loans, like what Pim is on, cannot have a recall clause. They are the football league rules.

I know mate just joking. Yeah lets hope you are right.

Miguel Llera

I'm slightly annoyed that Wednesday can just turn up and poach him from us. He improved from a shaky start, and I would have liked to keep him.

However, Legge is back now and I hope Eger gets his chance to form a solid partnership with him, as Eger has been steadily looking better and better. Although Uwe does have the habit of bringing in CB's and putting them straight into the team.

I think the key to this is "with a view to a permanent move". If we didn't intend to keep him after Dec 7 and Blackpool get a bigger shared of wages paid and a chance to offload a player they don't want, then it's completely understandable, albeit annoying.

That's correct. The longer loans can only be cancelled in very special circumstances.

Miguel Llera

Our loan expired on 7 Dec and Llera would then go back to Blackpool and be on their wage bill until January when they could loan or sell him.

This way he is off their wage bill now (assuming Sheff Wed are paying all or some of his salary) and they will also get a fee for him in January.

Its much better business for Blackpool.

Miguel Llera

I don't quite get why Blackpool even signed him in the first place?

sorry, was trying to parody the way that it's great to slate players when they wear the red & white stripes then want them back once they're gone...
from what i saw, i thought actually he was fairly good. looked too much like a tennis player for my liking though.

What you say makes sense, though I just couldn't ever see it happening the other way around with our and Sheffield's roles reversed.
