Oh BTW - has anyone found my reversible Fulham/QPR scarf? I left it on Ealing Road at the weekend. It'll be no use to any of you as you're probably not disloyal, treacherous Judas scum like me

It will make a good start to a bonfire.

lol think you might be overplaying that a bit. IF Firstvisit is such a sensitive flower and makes decisions on which football club to support based on how rude people are to him on the internet then may I suggest that he wasn't long for BFC anyway.

Well maybe I'm a sensitive flower then because if, as a youngster, my first visit to a club involved the loss of my camera and then ridicule by the club's supporters I can assure you that unless there were already very strong Brentford roots in the family I wouldn't be back again.

The only thing that he can be accused of is a slightly harsh tone to his post -and do you know what? If my camera had been stolen I'd be pretty angry too. His post was clearly aimed at one person and one person only - the one who took the camera. Maybe the rest of you are also getting rather over sensitive in your response to it. And as FirstVisit was in the Family Stand it might be a reasonable assumption that he is a young kid whereas I know that many of those ridiculing him on here have no such excuse.

Sorry, but at the risk of making myself sound like an old duffer one of the worst aspects of the internet is the tendancy for people to hide behind their keyboards and their usernames and treat others with very much less respect than they would do so face to face. And this site, which I've noticed very often seems to give visitors a frosty reception, is a prime example.

Its not even really the potential lost income to the club that bothers me so much as the complete lack of common courtesy out of all proportion to the original post.

I am confident that if Firstbee had made the same announcement out loud upon entering a pub after the game he would have received almost exactly the same reaction.

First time I went to GP someone threw me out of stripes and somebody took the piss out of my trainers  that's why I left the country

Where the **** is Ken when he's needed.

All right you rotten sods, give it back now. I expect whichever of you found it has used it to take pictures of their genitalia as a nice surprise for the owner too.

You lot are unbelivable.

Some poor sod has come on here because they have lost their camera and all you can do is take the piss out of them.

i am trying to have sympathy for him but every word of his message is rude though! not even a brentford fan either by the sound of it. is it a wind up?maybe we should delete all the replies and have a whip round and buy him/her a new camera. although i really do hope you find your camera FirstVisit and i'm sure we all do really.

Funny that they haven't been back on here.

Maybe they are so traumertised(sp) they've gone out and killed themselves, then how would you feel.

Well if the post was aimed at the person who stole the camera then it was wasted bandwith. If someone is such a scumbag to steal another chaps camera do you really think a plea to them is going to get it back! When I worked in a shop I used to get people hand me a tenner and then say "Don't worry, it's real.." I think anyone who is trying to pass counterfeit notes over the counter may even stoop to lying about it :thetruth:

ps. agree with Carri. The same response would have been offered in the pub, unless he had tatoos on his fingers obviously

I've read it several times now and maybe they could've put it in a better way.

It may have been his first game, you could have lost the club a potential 40k. Well done, hang your head in shame.
Let's look at this another way. Let's say FirstVisit was to return to GP and bring that ole attitude along with him. 'Phew', you might think. 'That was close, thought we'd lost 40 large there for a minute'.

But consider this. Sitting next to him are Mr & Mrs Beesvirgin, to whom he is very rude and obnoxious. He accuses them of hoisting his HP R717 last week and they vow never to return. We've gone from £40K up to £40K down in a matter of seconds.

Well now, you can do the maths. You will now perhaps appreciate that the work of some GPG'ers is tireless. In the space of two days the club has gained £40K and a low to mid-range camera all through the work of a few who expect no thanks, but get a little tired of being constantly questioned and criticized about the work and effort they put in to make these things happen, often in their own time and without financial reward .

I once had to keep 40 people happy by supervising their every need at work. One day a watch was stolen from one of them who posted a note on the messageboard saying something like " Whoever stole it can meet me at 17.30 behind the unit if brave enough!" I called him in and he told me about the sentimental value of the watch being passed down from his dad etc etc, we then put another note together saying that it was a family piece and what it meant and could anyone who had come across it by mistake please return it, bingo bango it was sitting by his workplace the next morning. It's the way you ask.

For what it's worth, I'm 95% certain this whole thread is a wind up anyway. The 'not worth anything because the battery is nearly flat' is a dead giveaway.

Missing Camera

If you were in Block H of Griffin Park on Saturday (16th) watching Brentford beat Carlisle 3-1 and went home with my HP R717 digital camera would you please return it to the stadium. The battery will run down very soon (may have done so already) and as you don't have the charger the camera will be useless to you. I'd like it back

Why don't you contact the club and ask whether someone has handed it in!?

How do you know if the camera was stolen? Maybe the camera fell on the floor or he left it behind. Maybe the finder handed it in to the club!

Yes. It's curious that he/she hasn't even been back to see whether anyone had any news about it. Although of course he/she may have found it underneath a pile of old dirty socks.

Tony Ashley received an e-mail prior to leaving GP, duly picked up his torch and went and inspected the area concerned and also blocks to each side in the area described. He could not find any camera and nor could the cleaners on Sunday morning, only a set keys was handed in. Tony e-mailed the person back saying "I went straight over there with a torch but sorry, couldn't find anything".

Disappointing that Tony didn't get a response eg "oh dear, well thank you very much for responding so quickly and looking for me, if anyone does hand it in , could you please ......." etc.

Exactly. Good Manners cost nothing, they really don't.

I see a pattern emerging here...:nono:

The only things I've ever stolen were the heart of my wife, the virginity of Ms Amaducci from Italy who was over here learning English and a Fun Boy Three album from Littlewoods in Hounslow.FACT!

Stealing someone's virginity, isn't there a name for that? :nono:

I refuse to take any more questions on this flippant response to a serious problem. Can we get back to camera stealing please.

So we have gone from a missing camera, to NorthamptonBee taking advantage of some Italian sort whilst she is over here to learn about the finer things in our culture.
