Mk Dons Match Report

We huffed and puffed again. We played outstanding pretty football at times but again how many more times do we have to say - if you dont shoot you dont score.
Mk Dons were outplayed but they sat back absorbed any tentative pressure, had two chances, scored both and hit the post.
Why we took Clayton off to put on a rookie striker is beyond me and we are desperate for a right winger.
Weve got to get the ball onto the box more.

Mk Dons Match Report

A nothing game really. We huff and puffed - trotta had a half chance first half but put it wide. He didn't look at all interested - if you are going to play the lone striker you need to at least battle for the ball - and was rightly brought off at half time.

Moore at fault for the first - let it bounce over his hands. Don't remember the MK keeper making a save in the second half.

Don't understand Uwe taking Forrester and Donaldson off!!!?!! It was like he had given up! Very strange starting line up given the good performance Friday.

I wish Uwe would just care about us and not the opposition - if he had done that today and set us up 4-4-2 I feel we could have won but his tinkering has cost us again today.

Tinkerer got it wrong again today, BWP, Adeyami on the bench, Trotta started and once again was anonymous how much longer do have to put up with him?
Fridays team selection worked well so shy change it.

MK were very poor but still took 3 points.

Plenty of possession but nothing to offer in the final third.

Well done to a small minority of our younger fans after the game. Swearing at drivers and families, spitting at old ladies waiting in bus shelters. All while waving Brentford flags and scarves. Really outdid themselves today. Get these cretins out of our club.

Would like to comment on Magicbees comments on the match day thread. Appreciate he does not like the manager however can't see why, outside play offs last season and improved this. Don't here so much from him when we win

As I understand it BWP had a dead leg, we have a number of games to play so Trotta gets the nod, Tom is a different call and his exclusion may have been to balance the team

Rosler is above all things pragmatic, he knows that if we win all our games we get promotion however in reality that is unlikely. He can either risk everything on getting those wins but if we fail ends up with burned out players. Alternatively he tries to rest some here and there to keep them in reasonable shape should we finish in the play offs.

A difficult balancing act but, despite the changes we would, as I understand it have come away with a result had we taken our chances, something that is beyond the managers control

Crowd of 10,455 as Jim Royale would say "my arse" and well done to the 2,030 Bees fans that turned up - so much for only expecting 600!!

Mk Dons Match Report

Frustrating, frustrating frustrating.. We dominated possession for the entire match but lost because we gifted them the key early goal and were never incisive with our own chances. MK were able to sit back and invite us onto them and Diagouraga and Forshaw burst forward but somehow the final ball always went astray and we lacked that spark up front.

We started slowly but gradually forced them back and Douglas missed a good early headed chance but he was superb today, always driving us forward and making key interceptions. Suddenly after a few flurries by us they scored out of the blue from nothing when Bowditch ht a shot from 25 yards almost as an afterthought and was as amazed as all of us when Moore let it bounce over and seemingly through him.

We dominated the ntire first half apart from a header over and a Bamford shot onto the outside of the post but Forrester had 2 shots saved, the keeper dropped a corner which we failed to capitalise on, Forshaw had a 25 yarder saved and Trotta missed horribly when Douglas created a gift wrapped chance for him. 0-1 at the break - a total travesty.

We cut them open in the first minute of the second half when Bidwell overlapped and hammered a cross onto sub BWP's head but it went over and not under the bar.

MK Dons broke the game up and held possession well and their passing was at times better than ours but for long periods we had the ball and went forward until the move would break down around the edge of the box. Half chances were missed by - pretty much everyone. Donaldson who did little and Forrester who had faded went off but after Dean headed over and Diagouraga shot wide from an angle you just knew it wasn't going to be our day and Gleeson put us out of our misery with a wonderful 25 yarder on the break - and showed us what we lacked - incision and the ability to hit testing shots from distance.

It is a salutary lesson that for all our possession it was MK Dons who had the best 4 chances of the match , 2 goals, a great save from Moore just before the second goal and hitting the post.

Dean was magnificent as was Logan and Douglas. Otherwise too many 6 out of 10s when we needed 7s and 8s.

There away defeats on the trot without a goal - hmmmmmm.

The ground holds over 22,000, the crowd was about right I would say (8,400 home fans and 2,000 away), it was just under half full. Season Ticket holders are included regardless of if they turn up so that might factor in.

Anyway, thought Brentford were the best team to come to MK this season and outplayed us but lacked bite up front, personally think you will grab 2nd place. It was nice for us to be the team that is clinical up front for once and take 3 points when we probably only deserved 1.

Good support from your fans. Selfishly help you do not go up as I enjoy visiting Griffin Park. Good luck with the rest of the season.

Mk Dons Match Report

Rosler's naivety rears its ugly head again with both poor personel and formation selections. Defeat is hard to take when your not outplayed. Feel we beat ourselves by not picking Adeyemi or Saunders and asking poor old Trotta (then BWP) to play target man..a job neither can do.

We were never going to win them all in the run in, but letting that w@anker win his cup final is a choker, especially with such great support.

Absolute idiots, you forgot trying to start fights with locals! They look around 15 and weigh about 7 stone don't they would do any real damage but just pure scum.

PlAyed some lovely stuff but looked toothless in the final third.
Franchise set up like they were the away side and invited us on, but we seemed to want to score the perfect goal.
No aerial threat in their box meant we couldn't mix it up even if we wanted to.
Final ball lacked quality and uncharacteristic error by Moore put us on back foot.
Trotta was poor, but did not deserve to hear our fans chanting for Wright-Phillips - whose scoring record for us is hardly exemplary - as early as the 20th minute.
Sections of our support baffle me sometimes, but most disappointing was the fact that the fat scouser' s side were distinctly average.

Mk Dons Match Report

Went.. Kinda the one that got away, others dropped points around us and all teams will on the run in. We deserved at least a point but those are the breaks. Refuse to do the whole doom and gloom as we still have a decent chance. #beelieve

Mk Dons Match Report

Boy, that was disappointing. It was clear after 5-10 minutes how poor MK were and how little threat they offered, but we persisted in 4-5-1 with a statuesque Trotta giving no 'out' for the midfield. Once BWP missed the sitter at the start of the second half it seemed the die was cast. JD and Dave were solid, but the rest of the front six offered nothing. Oh for a winger on form...

The good news is that - amazingly - our destiny is still in our own hands. Somehow we've got to find a goal threat for the last six games and win five of them... just have to forget today asap and regroup on Saturday, hopefully with Tom adding some forward momentum..

Mk Dons Match Report

Shame the Brentford fans thought they were at a library/funeral.

It had nothing to do with goals or lack of them. Trotta's performance was quite frankly disgraceful. To not try and show no interest is an insult to the club and I hope he never pulls a Brentford shirt in again.

Mk Dons Match Report

We haven't got a striker to score(what I call) dirty goals, toe poke in from five yards, off your backside goals like that, we had one but let him go. My other gripe regarding strikers is that they need to have plenty of game time together, would be interesting to know how many times since christmas we have had the same two playing together, It's not over yet however, our lack of goals could be our undoing.

Mk Dons Match Report

Do you honestly think he wasn't trying? He was selected as a lone striker target man which he clearly isn't..He had to feed off scraps. He was poor but was being slated by supporters when we might need him for the run in....Not clever

Mk Dons Match Report

Is he not called Stuart Dallas . . . . .

He sure is and you could argue that if we're going to persist with one up top that Farid is that type of striker, strong, not frightened to mix it up against centre halves and very strong in the air. Uwe seems to consider Dallas too inexperienced at this stage and Farid not mtch fit.

Mk Dons Match Report

Wonderful support today, that was let down by the manager's starting line up and some not great performances. Why Uwe chose to go with the badly performing Trotta in place of BWP, who is forming a good partnership with Donaldson, and has started scoring was baffling. Equally suprising today was the leaving out the man who many believed was our best player on Friday - Adeyami, it beggars belief. Sam Saunders may also be wondering why he wasn't in the starting line up as he has given good options in the past few games. Forrester needs to be told he cannot walk the ball in to the goal every time he has possession and that a telling pass is more likely to be successful than being dispossessed by numbers of defenders every time. Forshaw also needs to learn how to shoot for the corners of the goal rather than straight at the keeper as he missed a great chance and was a perriferal figure for much of the game. The biggest mistake however, was taking off Donaldson, as he was doing a great job winning the balls down the flanks and releasing them to put his team mates into good positions. BWP was as deflated by this, as the supporters were and his head went down very quickly. Almost as big an error, was Donalson's replacement by German, a rookie player who looked like a little boy lost - rather inept and this substitution was the shot in the arm to MKDon's who started to really pass the ball around the deflating Bees and strolled into a two goal lead. Game Over. If Uwe and his team bother to review the game, they will see that both goals came down our left hand side and both shots were from player who were not closed down by our defence. Simples really.
I hold to my oft put view, that our finishing problems will mean we miss out on the prizes once again this season.

"When" Uwe and his team review the game, I hope they'll notice that MK's first goal came down our right.

Mk Dons Match Report

Yes and where is he? He has to be on the bench even if we take a risk with not covering another position as he can change a game and is our only real winger at the club
Dallas should be on the bench EVERY match as he offers a different option.Nothing against German but would much prefer to see SD on the bench instead.

Mk Dons Match Report

Woefull team selection to start with doesn't help the cause , why change a winning Friday team????? , mr levack its blatantly obvious that one striker that cant carry the weight of his boots let alone score a goal up front on his own ??? no its not about slating our team its about a problem that's there for all to see lack of firepower . why play clayton out wide , forrester who is bloody lightweight and shys away from the action and german not the answer either so it leaves us with dave john shaleum j bidwell moore harliegh all man of the match today followed by moore for his poor 1st save /miss as for the rest I ran out of ink

Mk Dons Match Report

Trotta.:mad1: I hope that is the last I see of him, offers nothing and now pony at finishing.
Where did that madness come from, I don't tweet but could someone answer the smug bod who question where the rotation haters were, well that curve ball called Trotta was a pathetic piece of rotation?
Adeyemi must have been injured and so must Clayton to have gone off.
Simon Moore.
Logan was superb, Dean and Craig were very good, Douglas and Dave won their battle but we're not good enough.
Clayton on the right and Trotta up front has blown my mind.

Sorry but I've been watching lower division football for nearly 40 years and can judge a crowd reasonably well. There is no way that there were even half of those 8,400 home supporters present. There were only 2 small blocks, to our left at the far end, which looked reasonably full and behind the goal was almost deserted. Including the large number of seats closed off for segregation the occupancy in the home ends couldn't have been more than 1 in 5 or 6. I would say there were about 3,000 home fans there - and that's a reasonably generous estimate. All clubs include season ticket holders and therefore report larger crowds than the actual numbers in attendance but this went way beyond that normal margin of error.

Yea but what is the reasoning as he has done fairly well in his 2 seasons, certainly better than the alternatives that were discussed at the time. I am genuinely interested in your reasoning

Mk Dons Match Report

Lost this one after domination of about 80 percent of the play! BWP misses a sitter a the start of the 2 nd half and you just know it will be one of those days! Hopefully we put things right at Coventry who took a hiding from Walsall today. I had a feeling we'd lose today but its far from over lots of nervous teams up there!

The game? Disappointing too.

that sounds like something out of 'murphys mob' on tele in the late 70's.....you sure it wasnt a flackback ?? ;) lol a fearsome mob with scarves and flags ??? i think not eh lol

as for the game.....rosler c0cked it up with his usual tinkering and rubbish substitutions.....theres no more to be said really, mk were poor but we could have played all night and not scored....contender for 2 worst half performances of the season, trotta and bwp,,,,both absolute rubbish :( dave and douglass did well, harlee and logan too.....the rest were very average at best......really disappointed today what with having an incredible support there who backed em for the whole game.....if i was uwe id be having a good hard look at his decesions today

Mk Dons Match Report

10k Att?

No f***ing chance that ground was close to half full!

Some Bees fans were off key today. Not a good vibe im afraid. Rather not stand shoulder to shoulder with them. Watch the football & leave the silly s*** out of it.

Massive game Saturday - ALL IN IT TOGETHER.

18pts to play for.......

Loved the balloons, YOU REDS!!!

Why o why tinker with something thats not broken ,then bring back a striker from a lge 2 team when you have one out on loan in lge 1,Adeyami ,Saunders and Philips must be scratching their heads as to why they didnt start, the Tinkerman confuses us all ,only he knows the master plan!!

Totally agree!
Would have left Clayton on.
German got stuck in but didnt really work for him.
I was surprised to see Trotta was starting. He had a poor first half in my opinion and rightly subbed.
For me Clayton has to be uptop and not wide on the right.

But still we had enough to win the game but that doesn't matter when you don't create any clear cut chances.
Too slow once were in the final third, we don't penetrate quick or hard enough. Football is an easy game really and at times we seem to complicate things. Either we don't shoot out of blue or we take too long to get the ball in, too many passes or there's no one in the box who's a threat in the air. Looks a bit predictable to me. Corners we still don't look like scoring from.
We had a few tame shots from outside the box but nothing threatening.
Harlee dragged wide second half, BWP had a header.

Franchise scum won't get a better result than that all season, they had pretty much two shots returning two goals and also hit the post.

Toumani was our spark in midfield, picking up the ball and trying to make things happen. My man of the match.
Also thought Tony Craig had a really good game.

Felt for Moore with the first goal, he's been excellent all season. Not the start we wanted especially as we were dominating the game.

Great support 2030 brilliant numbers and very vocal. On to Coventry we go! we can still do this. #beelieve PMA

NLB and others have covered it but would add that it's disappointing when our own fans start slating Trotta.
Agree he was poor but it's Uwe who sent him out in the lone striker role which he isn't strong or mobile enough to carry off at this level.
Thought Douglas was back to his best and ably supported by the excellent Adam and Toumani (first half).
I really hate the town, the soul less ground, the fat jolly Manager and the plastic fans and to cap it all I bought
two adult and two junior tickets and all four were in
separate aisles. The steward told me I couldn't sit
anywhere. I think he took my look to mean he might be
better off looking the other way rather than preventing me sitting with mine.
Our support was very good as it needs to be for every one of the last 6, theirs was very poor and they deserve their rotund retard of of a Manager. I did wish him a heart attack as he went into Barry Fry type celebrations on the line and attempted to give it large after the game.
If I'd have been Dougie and he patted me on the head during the game I'd have lamped him and after cuddling BWP before the game, WTF was he doing giving him a bear hug just as he prepared to come on as sub. The man is a walking embarrassment, let's hope Winkelman sees him that way as well.

Onto Coventry, same performance with a cutting edge should see us return to winning ways.

Yeah I do, especially when I see the likes of Douglas sprint past Trotta to go and close a player down.

Mk Dons Match Report

We outplayed a poor MK Dons side for much of the game and gifted them two goals. An odd team selection, can only presume that Adeyemi had picked up an injury. We cried out for Tom's energy in midfield who has been on form for weeks. Trotta starting was very strange and very unexpected. Still rate him as a footballer but he does not have the energy to chase down balls and was never going to make any impact as a lone striker. Douglas was my MOTM, thought that he battled well in midfield and had a good overall game. Hope today's result does not have too much of an impact on the attendance for Saturday. Still expect 2,000 to travel to Cov.

Mk Dons Match Report

Robinson clapping the bees end after the game?
Celebrated the second goal like the true MUG he is.

Mk Dons Match Report

We were very good and the midfield 3 were fantastic in the centre of the park, no complaints in dropping Adeyemi. Not sure if I have seen any Brentford player play as badly as Trotta in that first half though! And taking Donaldson off was a shocking decision, but apart from those 2 incidents think Rosler got it right today just couldn't take our chances. As for MK Dons they are the worst I have seen them since they first took over Wimbledon. Half the team they were a couple of seasons back. Robinson is surely on borrowed time.

Mk Dons Match Report

As others have quite rightly pointed out, a disappointing performance especially considering the possession that we had throughout and some of the slick 'pass and move' football that is a joy to watch. The managers interview on Beesplayer says it all, he is too much of a gentleman to mention names but "substitutions are made for a reason" Trotta was a best disappointing, at worst had his head elsewhere and not really bothered....either way this is sad for someone his age still proving himself.
Keeping players fresh is important as we have some big games coming up and there is no point in having a strong squad if you then don't use it. Tom Adeyemi must have shown something in training that worried Uwe and meant he did not start; that said we dominated the midfield with Douglas back to his old self (pushing high for once) and Dave playing a blinder. The first goal was unlucky (it skipped up but still should have been saved), the second was a well taken goal after one of their best passing moves of the match.
We need to shoot more as that's how you score. Playing like this we will not be far off!
As for the scumbags outside...go and support another side, we don't want or need you!

Mk Dons Match Report

It's April Fools Day and sadly our Manager continues to be the fool when it comes to Trotta. Frankly, I could not believe the way we lined up added to Tom on the bench. It is obvious, no doubt for a contract, that Sam wants it a lot more than Harry who has done himself no favours in the past three months. Adam continues to carry an injury and it looked towards the end of the first half that Clayton was struggling before he came off in the 2nd. BWP and German were completely ineffective in the second half so let's hope CD is OK.

This was a 'No Lose Game' against a very average MK side. No doubt we will make the PO's but if you think of how many times we have failed to score when we have been on top in the first period of so many games and how many one on one chances (not this game) CD has missed this season then we should have been running away with the title but that's not our way.

Mk Dons Match Report

Toums for me stood out and looked back to his best,Trotta at his worst and looked of the pace hence Uwe hoiked him off and FORSHAW no where near his best.

Mk Dons Match Report

Nothing to add as far as the match reports go but would like to state that I never want to see Trotta in a Brentford shirt again.

I cannot work out if he is not very bright in footballing terms or just bone idle. I know he can do little dinks and jinks. I know he has scored for us. Unfortunately, neither of those two positives are much in evidence when he plays. We don't gain anything and he sometimes takes up a shirt that should have BWP in it or German so we effectively lose a man. If he will not jump for the ball, tackle for the ball or run into place for the ball, what is he doing other than modelling lime green football boots?

One of the posters on this thread said that BWP had a dead leg and that's why he wasn't selected for the team. All I can say is that BWP made more contribution to our game with a gammy peg in the first 10 minutes of the second half than Trotta did for the whole of the first 45 minutes.

Uwe clearly sees something in him. I bow to his greater experience and knowledge of the game. I wish he could explain to me what it is, though.

Mk Dons Match Report

Still in the enigma pub. Can someone help me home. Going up.

Mk Dons Match Report

Felt we were decent for most of the first half Trotta wasn't what we needed upfront alone but thought we would get the win eventually breaking them down. Then we concede a stupid goal first should not have allowed the shot and then well Moore an average league one keeper should have done better.

Second half start of brightly and would have been level had Bidwell not leathered the ball at BWP who could only head over.

Unfortunately we went down hill after that and lacked tempo as we have for most games away from home this season. Far to slow in attack and allow the opposition to defend in numbers because of our slow forward play then we almost have to many people in to small a space hoping for scraps that weren't coming..

Our support were rubbish today in the main lack of singing which was disappointing... Also the knobs turning on one another at the end about whether Uwe should be sacked or not!!!!!! Its not going to happen for at least another season or two so get over it Uwe haters.. Although criticism of his twinkerman tactics is justified.

PLAY OUR BEST 11 UP THE TEMPO AND ATTACK AND STOP WORRYING OUT THE OPPOSITIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mk Dons Match Report

Well, the scouse whinger is still in a job, thanks to four ineffective strikers: Trotta may as well not been on; Donaldson was having one of his "not me" games; Wright-Phillips had one great opportunity and went flat; German was lost. We really missed Tom as he would have tackled more than the rest of the team put together.

So, it's off the Coventry... oh and not even the wind helped the balloons!

Mk Dons Match Report

Nice football? Yes, but too many players too often look for - and take - the easy option. Either that or they're simply not good enough to dig out the incisive final pass.

I'm afraid I just don't get Rosler's purpose in bringing in either Trotta or Wright-Phillips. I suspect that both are decent enough strikers if used in the right way - but neither of them serve any purpose whatsoever in this team. And anyone who thinks German has a chance of proving himself a footballer at this level is deluded.

Three away games, no points, no goals and hardly a goal-scoring attempt that's forced the keeper into a "serious" save. And that against mediocre teams.

Mk Dons Match Report

Maybe im bonkers but i thought we played decent with some good football. Totally bossed the game but failed to hit the target. They played on the counter, had 3 shots & scored twice.
Cant really slaughter Rosler as he currently has us 3rd with a great chance of Automatic. 2,030 Bees fans tells me he's done alright so far.....

Same again @ Coventry this Saturday. They need us.
