Chess can be boring if you don't know what you looking at. I found gridiron boring live after the great tv coverage, just seemed to be standing around all the time, but still love it on tv. If anyone goes too a game of baseball I would recommend minor league at at A AA or tripled AAA. It is non stop for family things, close to u'd action and a great game

Dont know too much about the game but going to SF Giants game in a couple of months, apparently AT&T Park is a great venue. Hardest part was deciding where to sit, hope I have chosen good seats!! One of those get in and see what it's like type of things, similar to the many tourists who turn up at GP without knowing what's going on, they always seem to be in the New Road!

Love the game, very much like cricket in that the game can drift for parts but is an enjoyable watch

Hope you enjoy. Only ever went to one major game, was Giants/Reds and seemed so far away. Candlestick was an enormous venue. Never been to a minor game without having a great time. Charleston,Richmond,Birmingham,Sarasota,Las Vegas, Chattanooga etc etc everyone being good slave or just off. Every evening there is themes, just a huge community thing. Shame but just don't think its possible to transfer any of it to GP on a cold Tuesday

I follow Texas Rangers

Please can someone adjust the title of this thread to MLB 2012 ... thanks otherwise it will bug me all summer :D

Off to Florida in a few weeks .. we always try and go to see our local Minor League team there .. Port Charlotte Stonecrabs, its a fun evening :sorted:

As always, someone every year who has to compare Baseball with rounders

At a Baseball match, so much goes on what you don't actually see on tv ... instead of taking the p!ss maybe some people should give it a go .. you never know, you might actually like it!

I'm a Dodgers fan.

Dodger Stadium is probably one of the oldest in MLB now, but still one of the best.

This is going to be our year.

GO DODGERS!

:D Don't worry I don't .. its just that every year when theres a new MLB thread someone compares it to rounders!!

At Baseball games, they bring the beer to you rather than having to queue it like at GP. That can't be bad can it? :sorted:

Tho I follow an AL team wonder how many in favour of the DH. I prefer the NL on that front and this year there is more IL games so fat wages to DH's are getting less

Dodgers fan here. Been to Dodger Stadium twice and love it there. Also seen games at Miami (in the Dolphins stadium) and Atlanta. Great game to watch live if only for the sights/sounds of the ballpark.

Not followed the post/pre season too much but going to be in New York in a month and having checked the schedule should be able to take in a Mets/Nats game.

Went to Fenway Park and Wrigley Field in Nov. Two really fantastic grounds. Haven't really got a team but I was caught in the World Series fever. I was informed it was the best one for years, and it is usually the NL or AL finals that are the bigger more exciting games

It's the SF Giants for me.

Fell in love with the Tribe doing the 1997 season, lost the world series in 7 against the new big spending Marlins and It's been downhill since, but still get a stir when I see them.

Mlb 2012

Tribe 2-7 but promising for you Blue Jays 7-2.....only pre season but not good again

Mlb 2012

I tend to treat these Spring Training games the same way as Pre-Season games here.

Hard to believe Ozzie got tossed in a spring training game, good watching tho.

Love it when the players or manager get it on with the umpires.

Bobby Cox was entertainment all on his own. Can't remember his sidekicks name for years, was always rocking, but was worth watching the braves for just those two.

IIRC Bobby Cox holds the record for most ejections from a game.

Tribe got 12 last night against the Black Sox,feel optimistic, good four innings from Masterson. Wonder if Carmona will come back with his real name.

I know football and soccer are the same but what is the difference between baseball and rounders. In baseball are you still out if the ball leaves the playground.

Too many differences to list but suspect your average rounders player wouldn't fancy a 100mph pitch. If the ball leaves the ground it's a home run,so no,you are not out.

Andy Petite signing a one year debt with Yankees, think I night have a chance yet

Chipper retiring at end of season, was cut up when he announced it. He better take Braves to the play offs for a perfect end.

What a strange scenario that they play season openers in Tokyo then revert back to spring training games before starting the season in the US

I'm pretty sure there are spring training games next Wednesday on the same day there are season openers as well.
