Money Back

I know this may be a bit strange but during and after today's game i was seriously thinking about asking for my money back(i wouldn't of got very far mind you) but im not a season ticket holder and pay 12quid week in week out to watch brentford and for the last few month's ive been watching rubbish i am now thinking about staying away for a few game's because we are very poor but the money i save on not bying a ticket will go in the collection bucket outside new road instead

what do you lot think am i out of order for thinking this?

As you will see I only post occasionally, but I had to agree with you on today's game.

I have been going to GP for over 30 years and today was one of the worst Bees performances I can remember. We made a very ordinary Stockport look good. Our first touch and control was poor, we were second to most balls, and worst of all no-one played with any passion or belief. For only the second time ever I left before the final whistle.

Who coaches this side? I can't call them a team because they clearly are not.
We seem to do nothing else but play midfield ping pong - biff, bang, back and forth - and then hoof balls forward to people that aren't there.
I've always held back on McCammon since Wally Downes is working on a Noades-inspired shoestring, but it's time someone dropped this waste of space so-called striker. He spends most of the game making half-hearted challenges, falling over, or getting knocked off the ball by defenders half his size. He can't shoot, can't head, and somebody is labouring under the delusion that by running about like a headless chicken he creates space.
Peters on an off day has more talent than McCammon at his peak.
But like I say, who the hell coaches this lot?

I'll 3rd that, maccammon is diffinutly a waste of space,he's control is absolutely rubbish and for his size you would of thought he would win a few more challenge's in the air wich he dosent, jay tabb win's more header's than and he's half his size, the only player that had a good game yesterday was curier now he look's like a decent stricker maybe maccammon can learn something of him

You're right about that, but I think McCammon has more of an impact on a game!

Not easy to make much impact from the bench is it? Other than that, the average ballboy has more impact on the game than McCammon had yesterday.

I work with an office full of Southampton supporters and they cannot understand why Peters isn't playing especially as we can't score goals and he was scoring them for fun in Saint's youth and reserve teams which was possibly a better standard than the current team is serving up. Come on Wally give the lad a chance, never mind if he has an attitude problem let him take it out on other defences.......We're used to finishing games with 10 men anyway.

I rated Derek Bryan before he got injured.
We all saw what had happened when he came back.
Southampton wouldn't have let somebody who was still that good go for free, especially not with a CV like that. They preferred to splash out £2 million on Ormerod than keep Peters.
I'm sorry, but that's the harsh reality. :(

Look Paz, why don't you just get off Peters back. It's all well and good criticizing players who have had their chance (or numerous chances) and blown it. (I hold my hand up to that with McCammon) but when a player has been denied the opportunity to show what he can do there is absolutely no excuse for your comments.

There is no way you can compare Peters to Del Bryan. Del had a very very serious injury and ultimately it finished his career. In fact he had a limp. Peters is clearly not suffering from any such injury and would appear to have made a full recovery from his break. Whether he will be the same instinctive scorer we keep hearing that he was remains to be seen but we'll never find out while he's got his arse glued to the subs bench will we.

Apparantly you have seen him play an awful lot (or so you keep telling us). Personally, although I go to all home matches and most away, I have seen very little of him other than 10 minute cameo appearances here and there. However, even those short glimpses have on occasions given the impression that he has some enthusiasm and skill to offer. He changed the game for us at Wycombe before being unjustly sent off. Last week apparantly (no doubt you were there I wasn't) he captained the stiffs to a 5-3 victory and claimed 4 assists.

The only excuse for not trying something different up front (such as Peters) is if the existing strikers are performing. 14 goals in the last 20 games says they aren't.

What have we got to lose by giving him a go instead of McCammon. More personality clash trouble by our erudite manager I think which is a shame.

If you have some constructive reason to offer as to why he shouldn't play then lets hear it. if it 's just "Wally knows best" then all I can say is "yeah yeah".:(

For what it's worth I think Peters definately deserves his chance, in his limited cameo appearances for the first team he has shown enough to warrant a run in the team in a central striking position (not right or left midfield for the odd ten minutes when we're chasing the game and lost all shape). If he has got an attitude problem it's part of Wally's job to deal with that, if he has got something to offer the team he should be in simple as that.

I'm personally of the opinion that he could replace Mac or Vine in the attack (as you know JT I don't particurly go along with the constant scorn you pour on poor old Mac and I don't think Vine has exactly been pulling up trees lately either) maybe alongside French bloke might be an interesting partnership:)

With you on that Balders. Personally, I would play "French Bloke" and Peters in a 4-4-2 formation. If we are struggling to create as well as take chances it is inappropriate to be playing 3 strikers and even further restricting the service. Neither Vine nor McCammon are particularly delivering at the moment and as neither will be here next year it is a matter of total bafflement to me why either are still playing. (**although the day McCammon hits a 30 yard screamer like Viney did in the first half on Sat is the day I need to go to the optician**)

** Just threw that in Balders so you didn't think I was slipping at all.
