Loan system.... if you get the right players in then its the dogs b***ocks if you dont then its b***ocks.

I feel most loanees we have had havent got an interest and we need players weather on contracts or on loan put nothing but 100% for the club in trying to win every game.
Personally, I expect a full quota of loanees for most of the season. It's a cheap way to get some Championship-quality players and I doubt we'll be able to sign enough to make a squad of 22 or so right now. I'd be a bit disappointed if we didn't have at least 3 loanees at the start of the season, although I'd prefer if they weren't assigned first 11 squad numbers like the season just gone. I'm of the opinion that you give what you think is your best 11 the first 11 numbers; giving loanees first 11 numbers was the initial kick in the nuts for our contracted players and it went downhill from there.

How did DJ do in his initial sub impact role?

DJ looked the nuts from the first time he played for us, the problem is if Moses is half as good as Dudley, Dyke will sell him in the Jan transfer window.

Oh look, it's that old chestnut again :banghead:

I think too many people are expecting Moses to be another DJ Campbell and make an almost immediate impact. Bear in mind that DJ was playing too divisions higher than Moses was last season before he joined us. 19 goals in the Ryman South tells me he's not good enough for league football.....yet.

Although AS says he is one for the future I suspect with our small squad he will play quite a few games due to injuries and suspensions.

What a joy it is to see a post that is so full of b***ocks one doesn't know where to start demolishing it.

Yeah why are we looking to sign good promising youngsters that we can sell on for 100 x what we paid for them.....Why isn't Scott looking to get in 37 year old rejects on two year deals that we know will see ourt their contract and not attract the attention of other clubs.

I seriously wonder about someof the posters on here

Yes. Let's pray he turns out to be crap so that we don't get any money for him and are stuck with a useless player, eh?

I don't know. I and most others I have seen aren't expecting him to be incredible straight away at all. He is what he is. A promising youngster.

The problem and what likely gives the impression we're expecting another DJ is because if we don't sign someone else he will likely be thrown into the fire so to speak and then if we are hoping for promotion he'd have to be scoring.

I'm pretty sure DJ was playing in the Ryman Premier when we signed him - only 1 division above.

However, whilst the signing of DJ was a gamble (which paid off) he was an established player at that level with something like 65 goals in 89 appearances for Yeading.

Moses is a lot younger than DJ when he came to us & a lot less experienced, so I believe it would be unfair of us to expect to much to soon.

Is anyone actually panning him or are people being holier than thou in pretending that they are?

I love Moses and hope he will be a sensation.

think this is rose-tinted spectacle and history being re-written.

DJ looked lightweight and off the pace for about 2-3 months of playing for us. then he upped his game and went on a mad scoring spree - learnt how to use his asset (his pace - tate should have been sent off about 3 times for swansea before he actually was for taking dj down).

And 9 times out of 10 caught off side. :sorted:

DJ playing two divisions above Moses means nothing. Given the choice of playing in the non-league for a pittance or playing in another team in the non-league for the same money but two divisions above and on the other side of London, why would you bother to move?
We're not talking the difference between the Premiership and League 1 here. There's hardly a gulf of class between Yeading and Croydon Athletic, is there?

Moses looks quite a shortarse in the Chronicle piccy. Not that that means anything. Small and nippy.I'd be more than happy if he turned out to be another Jo Kuffour let alone Dudley Campbell.

Moses Ademola

Combination of big strong Elder and small nippy Moses suits me just fine :sorted:
Football-wise.

Big article and picture in yesterdays Non League Paper headed "MOSES IS BUZZING"........also,strange world Slough get to avoid relegation from Southern League all because of the demise of Halifax Town. Also good luck to Deano at Newport County.

And Altrincham avoid relegation from the BSP for the third successive year on a technicality

I think in cases like this they shouldn't be able to avoid relegation, an extra team from each league in between where Halifax started and end up should be promoted instead and bottom teams relegated as usual. A hard-fighting team from the division below would probably be better for each respective league than retaining a team which had been in relegation form 3 seasons in a row.

I read somewhere that the Altrincham chairman actually wanted to go down this time to regroup and 'start again'.
Its going to be tough again for them.

Just seen a thread on FansFocus.com suggests a very good player but has a temprement problem  Suppose it could make the season interesting

Moses was an unused sub today but outside the ground after the game, his arm was heavily bandaged and in a sling. Anyone know what happened?

That is his comfort blanket and not a bloody sling!

He disappeared from the half-time knock-around after a short time, leaving the others out there. I think he slipped over, so he may have landed heavily on his arm. Let's hope it's not serious.

Perhaps he was in the White Horse before the game and overdid it a bit? He's only young after all.

That wasn't Moses it was Aaron, a good friend of Glen and others. Did anyone not see him on Soccer AM that morning.

Moses Ademola

So what really happened to Moses, and/or his friend Aaron? Was he found after hurting his arm falling in some bullrushes, or did he over exert himself climbing that mountain to take some tablets? Perhaps he is ok really and not all at sea, and we should not be making parting shots about him in case he sees redlol
