Judging from the TV highlights
Just saw the MOTD highlights on TV.
OUtraged by the ref who was wrong in some way for all three of their goals!
The first was offside, marginal but offside. And what about the first player who missed the cross who knocked into Paul Smith as he came to punch/catch it?
The Second was a penalty but was in reality a harsh sending off - both bookings need not have been given. The first was clumsy and not a yellow. The second - as Lawrence puts it - was an honest challenge for the ball and the Telford player got in the way.
The third shouldn't have been a penaly. Joel fell over and accidentally knocked the ball on trying to get up. It wouldn't have made a difference if he hadn't touched the ball. I've seen those not given many times before - and how could Joel get up without touching the ball.
Added to those three decisions was Jay Tabb through on goal and being pushed to the ground (he is only 5 feet tall!) and nothing being given. Also goal disallowed which was a much offside as the first telford goal.
Not wanting to sound sour. Credit to Telford for taking the initiative. Still, if Somner hadn't missed in the first minute and/or the first goal was disallowed then we would have gone in at half time ahead/level.
Team played poorly - still managed to create chance though and luck wasn't on our side.
