Mr. Frampton

With all the I love you posts going on, I would like to say that Mr. F had his best game in a Bees shirt in my eyes. Was this because a certain SH was ahead of him and he knew he could rely on a pacey committed player who would track back and help whilst involving him in attacking play. Just a thought. ;)

Mr. Frampton

certainley impressed with frampton ever since wednesday away he has just got better and better, with a good set of wingers its important to have a solid left back and imho thats what hes becoming

Peterboro away?

Mr. Frampton

Frampton's not a left back, he's more at home at centre half imo but id put him at left back as he does a decent job and is someone i quite like as a player.

and i guess those two performances were in teams where everyone else played superb NOT, those two games were awful team performance.

Mr. Frampton

yet again some people dont watch the game or dont have a clue. Frampton is shocking. he tries v hard and for that i credit the guy but he simply isnt good enough. As i say its not because he plays badly i think its just he either cant settle at left back or he just hasnt got the brain he needs to involved in fast connecting wing play.

Mr. Frampton

I thought he played well on saturday but I believe it was more down to bournemouth being, quite frankly, the most toothless attack we have encountered for decades other than stephen hunt playing. They were absolutely abysmal past the half way line and mustered 1 offside goal, 1 powder puff shot from 30 yards and not 1 single effort of note.
However, generally frampton defends very well but his distribution is awful, I thought he actually put in some good crosses, attacked the right back and got involved a lot better on saturday. Lets see where he goes from here!

Mr. Frampton

Frampton scare me ... not because he's not a particularly good defender but because he keeps on nearly hitting me every time he plays a ball down the line.

More idiots eh blianstillman not watching the game and being completely clueless.
Even after a superb team display on Saturday we still get the usual 'every silver lining has a cloud' comments.

 Don't understand this comment at all. He had a really good match on Saturday. I thought he played better than Sodje who is promising but very raw (he had a good game, but sold himself a couple of times).

Shaun, some people only get off by having a good old moan.
His 'analysis' of Frampton follows an equally incisive analysis of Talbot.
I put it down to the time of his post.....who can think clearly at that time?

Agree with that. Thought he had a good game - but he still will not use his right foot EVER which gets him into trouble time and time again.

Overall though, good performance, and he is improving so good luck to him.

Unless of course you are wrong. Don't you think MA watches the games and that he's probably got more of a clue than you?
As for Peterborough, Frampton was one of the few that continued giving 100% well after the game was lost and on a day when he lacked any cover or support and they frequently 'doubled-up' on him
He did have a bad day but it takes someone of strong character to not hide and to keep trying. Many of the so-called experts you get on here - who played 'a good standard of football' - failed to make the grade because they lack the sort of dedication, commitment and talent that Coppell, Downes and Allen all considered good enough.
Give him some credit also for coming back and playing so well on Saturday after being roasted by one of the best wingers in the division (Murray) the previous week. He won't be the last to get exposed by Murray.
As for his distribution he, like many other full backs, will 'hit the corner' if there is no movement ahead and he doesn't want to risk losing the ball in his own half. His distribution and support for Hunty was very good last Saturday or was you at a different game?

The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

He doesn't get much recognition, but for me he's been one of the most improved players this season (along with Kev, natch). He rarely makes mistakes and seems to be growing in confidence with every passing game.

IMO, obv. :D

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

I don't think that it's so much a case of him having improved a lot, rather that he didn't previously get a decent run in the side, mainly because of injuries. I've personally always quite rated him.

I'd go with that, I can't actually recall him having a really bad game since he's been with us, one of the real successes under MA and one of Wally's big mistakes in not playing him more, especially when you think of some of the left backs he did play.

As for all good defenders Frampton has learnt the art of doing the simple things well and consistently.

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

A vital part of our defence. Well done Framps on your consistently good run of form. :sorted:

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

Has been Mr Consistant this season ... very good in the tackle and not bad going forward either!

Mr. Frampton

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

Agree with the above,
I think he's probably our most improved player this term!
Well done Andy, and keep it going!:sorted:

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

Ill happily congratulate Frampton on his form this year, cant say im too surprised ive always rated him. He does a steady job, and does get noticed too much, which would suggest he doesn't do too much wrong throughout the game.

Mr. Frampton

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

I've always been a big fan of Framps particular after the game away at Luton a couple of seasons back when we won 1-0 through Vine. What I like about him is he is a no nonsense defender who always does the right thing whilst giving 100%.

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

I'll sign up to this. Our best left back since Martin Grainger?

Have you forgotten Matt Somner?

Mr. Frampton

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

He is playing well but he never had a chance with the previous management.

Mr. Frampton

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

Didn't rate him for a long time: thought Fieldwick was the better option at first. Then he came back to replace Somner. How wrong can I be?

Mr. Frampton

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

Most improved player of the season since the arrival of MA. :D
Well Done Framps keep up the good work :sorted: :sorted:

He had 1 bad game when we lost 4-1 to bristol. all of their goals came down the left side, where he was supposed to be defending.

since then he has been playing very well and very consistantly.

Mr. Frampton

Re: The Andy Frampton appreciation thread

yeh but - can't we just blame matt somner for that

(p.s sorry matt!)
