Nice. What about Mac viewers..? We're still Bees fans too.
There's another group that should be removed from the Paddock ;)

I think on paper this is a good signing. Not really sure why he's played two for Brighton, scored in both, yet they chucked him, but hoping he starts banging them in for us. The prospect of him and Connell up front is a pretty tasty one.

Good news (imo) about Ricky and Osei too, we may well need both of them as our squad isn't exactly crowded and we have a lot of matches left.

I posted this yesterday at 13:23 on the Transfer Window thread. Was i first? Do i win a prize? Do i need to get out more?

A mate of mine says we're in for Nathan Elder from Brighton. He's been wrong before but.... Apparently Brighton are having a bit of a clear out and have called a press conference tomorrow.

Nathan Elder

maybe AS showed him and Dickson the players that have come to GP in the last 10 years and have moved onto bigger things at clubs in Prem or Championship. Who have Wycombe and Darlo sold in the last 10 years who have progressed to Prem and CHam. sides? this is why Brentford is a good option for young players!

as for Wycombe................................... ha ha ha ha

Nathan Elder

Can the piece on the front page be changed then?

It's still "Nathan Elder To Sign?"

:sneakoff:

Appears that Brighton fans seemed to be 50/50 about whether they should have kept him. appears that he is not a good starter but lightnening from the bench. i look forward to seeing him bag a hat-trick in the first 20 minutes on Saturday then!!

Nathan Elder

He reckons his strengths are (1) his aerial ability, (2) his strength and (3) running past defenders.

:bound:

Excellent.

BUT! when we find out he can't jump or run past the last defender, he's going to get one hell of a slagging off!!!! :D

Nathan Elder

Great news. Just what we wanted. Welcome to BFC Nathan.............

Never mind about that, what's his favourite cheese ?

Nathan Elder

when was the last time we paid this much to sign a striker or even any other player?!? hope it will pay off!

Good luck Nathan!

Nathan Elder

sgaz, it was between the Bees and Wycombe as to who NE was going to sign for, both bid for him, luckily he chose us after a heart to heart with 'abee'.

do you need reminding?

Callum Pillock.......................... enough said.

Nathan Elder

I couldn't give a flying feck about him not being a success at the Bummers or about his goalscoring record as we need a forward and he needs a stage to perform on. I hope that he becomes the latest "one that gets away" as this happens so often and unlike with the Lee Thorpe madness there is actually some hope with this guy.
Cobblers couldn't wait to get rid of Sam Parkin and Steve Howard in recent years.

Nathan Elder

lets hope that this signing is a BIG BIG BIG improvement on the pillock that is callum then...

that would be Calum Willock...career stats 103 games, 34 goals

In the last 2 years, since he signed for Bees, 33 starts , 8 goals.

Decent stats IMHO.....easy to deride a player playing in a poor team, on the bench for most of his time a GP. Signed as a replacement for the prolific DJ Campbell..yet not the same type of player, his reputation suffered by comparision to DJ.

Still, I suppose it's easy to critisize :sorted:

Nathan Elder

are you saying you would enjoy seeing callum back at GP based on the stats then?

Nathan Elder

can anyone tell me what the two interviews are saying on the offical website (Elder + scott)

Nathan Elder

What I like is the fact that while it may be a gamble signing an unproven youngster, it's an educated gamble, an investment in the future, which could pay back big time, if he fufils his potential.

His record at Billericay was first class, he fits the profile of centre forward most of us believe we needed, and he was targeted, not a panic buy. It wasn't about the money as he wants to to play and better himself.

Who knows, he may not make the grade but I think it's a positive signing and fancy he'll benefit the team.

shhhhhh I am trying to listen! :D

For the cost of a couple of pints you could subscribe to the service (£3.99 a month) and you could listen to all the interviews first hand, I have heard that the service provides an excellent match commentary along with match highlights for all the games. I should imagine that the club get some of the subscription as much needed income too.

Sorry if you have a MAC and cannot use the service or of school age and should be at school...:D

Failing that the interview content maybe on the O/S or on the GPG later.

Hope this helps.
