Nathan Elder

How did he miss THAT chance today after Dickson's mazy run.............

The answer is easy. He came on as sub on a freezing cold night in a mid season game. Ever done that at Sunday league level? It's not easy. And I don't care if he does get paid to do it ...it's tough.

Nathan Elder

Until he came on we hardly created anything. He is not the finished article but we are not the same team without him, (Rochdale & Aldershot games also confirm this), and he will get better. He also brings out the best in big Mac. If we can keep Elder fit we stand a chance of promotion, without him we are mid table.

:imwith:

Surely he has to start every game possible when he is fit as we don't look that dangerous when he isn't playing! Maybe he won't score himself every game but he certainly seems to make other teams panic!

Nathan Elder

An enigma for Andy Scott.

A decent scoring record, but should have scored more.

I believe he is worth keeping as the first choice partner for McDonald, simply because of the threat he poses. Brentford fans need to get behind him and hope he repays their faith.
I believe Andy had had words with the big man, about being "on his toes" and ready to chase lost causes, in the style of Macdonald, but that isnt his natural game.

He now has a great song...and hopefully this will inspire him to produce some great moments in a Bees shirt.

Last night he was unlucky with one, scored one, missed one......but he did pick up a hefty knock, which must have limited him for the last 30 mins

I'm backing Elder for the rest of the season, he aint the lost cause that some fans feel he is. :sorted:

Anyone who doubts Elder's contribution only needs to look at games his has not played in. He obviously is not the finished article, but if he was he wouldn't be playing for us!

He causes the opposition defense all sorts of problems and on his better days has been marked by two players which creates space for others. He works hard and can finish fairly well.

I guarentee that opposition managers sigh a huge sigh of relief when NE is not on the team sheet and defenders will know they have been in a game after 90 minutes against him.

Elder is an asset to us this season and a good partner for Charlie. He will inevitably have his off games, miss some chances and make other errors, but he will and is also scoring goals, holding up play and creating chances for others.

He is a good player at this level and with good coaching and support from the fans could become and very useful player to have over the next few years!

Really enjoyed the nathan elder song yesterday, but i think the one me and my mates made up is better.....

Once and for all NE is one of our greatest assets which does not preclude him from getting a b***ocking from the management and being reminded of his responsibilities when required and even rested when necessary.

As I have said before I think I can name at least 23 other managers in this division, and many from leagues above who would love to have him.

He is a real work in progress and I would bet that he will have at least 15 goals by the end of the season given freedom from injury.

Nathan Elder

A step further from me, I think that defenders must hate playing against Elder and Mac. They both never stop working, it doesn't always come off but they don't offer a moments peace.

Nathan Elder

:imwith: a great asset that many teams in and around us would love to have playing for them. i have no problems with what he is doing for the team and so long as others are scoring and we are getting the 3 points elder can do what he likes on the pitch because it seems to be working. he will bring in around 15 goals as well as contribute alot to the team at the same time

How did he miss THAT chance today after Dickson's mazy run.............

Dickson shot with his right foot, Logan saved it, Elder put it back to goal in a split second ON TARGET and Logan saved (miraculously!) with his right leg.

I don't blame Elder for that

When we played Aldershot, their goalkeeper (Bull) said that "They couldn't believe it" when they found out that Nathan was not starting the game against them.

The best judges of Brentford players are often the opposition!

Nathan Elder, Brentford's number nine
LALALALALALALALALALA, etc whilst bouncing

to the tune of the runaway train.

Agree with the words Ambrose but the tune doesnt quite fit, I think its the tune of When Johnny comes marching home- the american military march.

I great song though either way.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is it not exactly the same tune?
