When watching the B team games on youtube he is always vocal but its always hard to understand
.............yep............been to a few games and lacks clarity..............

Suspect Thomas is a bit harder than his professorial image but would the genetic love child of TF and Neil (respect what they say but don't dare arguing) be the perfect combination for a football manager in the modern age?

Neil MacFarlane

Just watched his interview. He comes across as very likeable and he talks very well about the set up, players and the club.

Can also sense a bit of steel about him.

Doing a good job.

Neil MacFarlane

Has been doing the B team job for sometime now. Is there any likelihood we'll see him join the first team setup in future years or is his skill set tailored specifically towards the development side?

Probably a bit too shouty for the first team!

I don't see him moving up. In times past if "his" squad of players graduated to the first team (akin to Southgate moving up from England U21) maybe, but nah. It'll be interesting to see how the next manager gets on, as we have no real indication how good a job Farls is doing (or how challenging the games programme is) with what he's got to work with.

Can’t see it at all

Also likes to use a bit of "industrial" language now and again. Maybe have to do his coaching from the back of the North stand.
If he stands in the North Stand and uses that language....shouting..... he'll get a letter.

My wife is From Glasgow, and this may be a sweeping generalisation, but in my experience they use f*ck as punctuation, and c*nt as a term of endearment.

Neil MacFarlane

Can't see much wrong with that and some Scottish and international U19 scouting work on behalf of the club.
He could be our Scottish Steve Cooper!

Absolutely! The club scouting department must think Christmas has come early. Not only will he have access to the best of Scottish young talent all the way down to under 16, but also a first hand view of young talent in their opponents team. Happy days, I look forward to an increase in Scotsmen in the B team and B team loans to Scotland plus with a little luck under 19’s talent from overseas.

Something that sucks is, off the top of my head, we've had zero luck with Scots at senior or youth level in recent times. Need to turn that around somehow.

Then we will have inside knowledge and not waste money. Still a benefit. Maybe a few 16 year old are better bring them up our way.

Hickey? When uninjured. Though I’m not sure you need to be Scottish to get injured with us.

Getting Hickey fit might be a start! I know what you mean though, they only get so far, and no further - MacLeod, Archibald, Pressley….
I had hopes for Angellini, but no.

Neil MacFarlane

Dual appointment is just a ‘softner’ to ease in his replacement. He’ll be gone from here by Christmas.

Neil MacFarlane

What chance of him being caretaker manager of the Scotland national team by the end of the month?

Neil MacFarlane

I’d say 3x jobs is one too many! Wouldn’t Clarke’s gnarled assistant be caretaker, or whoever is U21s coach?
Clarke will take his long-established cronies with him when he goes. MacFarlane is new to the scene so he's bound to get it temporarily.

Anyway, he's out of here soon whatever happens, so he won't have three jobs to contend with. I'm sure he's capable.
