We are already putting teams under pressure but not scoring, whereas if we were applying that same pressure but racking up the goals it would force teams to attack more and we would tear sides apart. If we were putting 3 or 4 in the back of the net every game, Nelson's occasional mishaps wouldn't matter. It's easier to blame him for us losing, when really far more blame should be sitting at the feet of our 9,215 strikers that can't hit a barn door between them...

Just wondering how come we are 4th in the Division....seems just lately that nearly all the squad have come in for a bashing on here....are you all sure we are not 4th from bottom...have I been looking at the table upside down....??
I will be the first to admit that we havn't been playing great football but the way Nelson,Fitz,Owusu and co are getting slagged off on here isn't going to change the ways things are.
There is no money to bring in anybody else and unfortunately MANY of our players have had a dip in form of late but however certain players NEVER seem to get crticism on GPG ....
At the end of the day we just have to get on with what we have because there is no alternative...and as BeeH quite rightly said earlier at least 3 Premiershite keepers had mares at the weekend ....

I will point out that there are many other contributers who live in the real world and just want to get the club stablised off the pitch first, then hopefully seeing the club play at the upper reaches of this division, with a chance of promotion at the end of the season.

FFS since the season kicked off, there have been these anti Nelson threads.
Lay off the kid, he has let goals in, show me a keeper who hasn't.
He also has a defence which is supposed to ease his exposure.
I don't see the same people knocking the defence.

Although I was a long way from the second goal, the shot seemed as though it moved plenty in the air and SN had to get behind it which he did...........when it bounced out where were our defenders? They had to be nearer the goal when the shot was played but watched the game instead of getting involved.
As AF says we are 4th and going through a sticky patch, lets get through it and get among the top 3...........danger is the pack is now closing in on us.

To still be where we are despite our so called dodgy keeper, sh*t midfield and spunkless front line fills with me hope.
It is a weak division this year and the best of the clubs in this division are only as good as us at the moment.
Lets get the sh*te out of the way now, regroup and go on a storming unbeaten league and cup run then we can all cheer the f*ck up....... Cheque please!!!

Agree completely...... the point is that if a keeper is left exposed and makes a mistake the result is more often thatn not a goal. That doesnt apply to the other 1 players. However lets take a look a van de saar, obvioously a top quality keeper but even he will make mistakes if his defence and midfield are not giving him any protection.
Lets start looking at the whole team not just individuals it takes 11 to win and 11 to lose......

I just want a normal run-of-the-mill goalkeeper that does his job and doesn't get on everyones tits every week. Every time I watch a game I look in envy at the oppositions keeper, no matter how bad the team is. I just never see anyone who looks so uncomfortable.
