I have a couple of tapes that were recorded from Sky Sports and given to me by Bee49, that I would like to use. But...... I don't want to upset Sky because if they complain to Youtube they will take the whole channel down. If I asked Sky, chances are they'd have no objections - these games are over ten years old. But for all my Googling, I can't get any info on how to get copyright permission. Anyone know anything about this stuff? :fishing:

:suspect: That would certainly protect the main channel. But I don't think anything with the Sky Sports logo running through it would last five minutes on there to be honest. Plus of course I worry just a tad about the prospect of being sued by Sky, who have considerably more financial clout than Brentford FCTV at this stage :yes:. That said, I'm probably daft enough or will be drunk enough one night to try it :D.

Of the stuff already being used I've no idea where I stand re-copyright. In an ideal world I'd like to seek out any copyright owners and officially ask for their blessing. But I simply don't have a clue who these people are, or indeed if they (or any problems) exist. For this reason I've made a statement on the website asking anyone who has any issues to contact me. I'd certainly remove anything that I was asked/told not to use :shrug:.

Neat new search feature on the homepage now. If you're looking for a particular game, just type in the name of the opponents and it will tell you instantly if a game against them is on the site anywhere. Saves trawling through all the games on the 'Video Jukebox' page :sorted:.

There are many games that we lost that season that I don't have the heart to put on. But it's amazing to watch. We absolutely battered most teams but I've never seen so many efforts hit the woodwork, goal line clearances and all round bad luck in my life. That was a VERY good team that should have finished in the top half of the table. I will never understand how we got relegated. Unbelievable luck :(.

P.S. Did you notice I gave you a new Youtube button? I think it looks a bit neater now :sorted:.

Now then folks. That's me just about finished with HertfordBees' videos and so proceedings have come to a standstill. Lots of people have offered to lend me tapes in the past that for one reason or another we never got round to arranging. So a favour please .............

If anyone has tapes they are willing to part with for a few days, could you please check the website ( http://www.brentfordfctv.co.uk ) to see if you have any that haven't already been included and if so, let me know? As a 'thank you' for the loan, I will gladly include DVD copies of your tapes when returning them. :kiss:

Excellent. Many thanks. I'd like those in the library for making compilation vids (such as BBB Of The Seventies, Silk Scarves, the website introduction vid etc.) so I'll definately take you up on that soon :sorted:.

What about downloading the video from Youtube, washing out the broadcaster logo with some video editing software and then re-uploading it to a different Youtube channel?

I know not of such software :( :shrug:. But also, I'm trying hard not to deliberately antagonize any copyright owners and to tell the truth, removing the Sky logo from their material probably wouldn't endear me to them. I don't own the copyright or have permission to use any of the footage, but I'm fairly sure that whoever does own the copyrights are fairly relaxed about it. I would ask permission if I knew who these people were :confused:, but in the meantime I've stated in several places that if anyone is not happy for me to use any of the videos, they only have to say and I will remove them immediately. Can't say fairer than that and so far, no news is good news :sorted:.
