New Ground (?)

Well it could be worse, at least we've still got a ground : Oxford leave the Manor at the end of this Season but their 'new' ground still isn't finished (at the second attempt) as there is a dispute over rights of way and their owner is threatening to quit, Swindon are in deep trouble as their move is held up big time, Fulham apparently havn't sold the cottage as the locals dispute proposed new use (sound familier ?) and MAF is skint, Arsenal wanted to move but couldn't (locals objecting again). Tell you what, how about a ground share with our friends at Millwall ?
So has this litany of woe cheered everyone up ?

New Ground (?)

I heard Oxford might be winding up this week as well.

I think it's Swindon who may be wound up this week. It would ease our fixture congestion, but be a very sad outcome if it comes to that.

I understyand that Swindon could be wound up on Wednesday...but it always seems that clubs manage to wriggle out of it at the last minute. Certainly hope this continues with Swindon.

other clubs in trouble include:

Bury (need £600,000 to keep going)

Chesterfield, League Inquiry into underquoting contracts, underquoting attendances, not paying match fees, not paying transfer fees, three factions fighting to take over the club, ground to be closed at season's end and no ground to go to.

Lincoln need injection of funds to complete fixtures

?Palace? looking for drastic reduction in staff

.....and so the list goes on

Lots of clubs are in trouble & almost always they are reprieved at the last minute.

Latest I know are:

Swindon need £500,000 by Wednesday

Bury need £600,000 by end of the season

Oxford, as you rightly say, have to vacate the Manor & work on the new ground is halted

Lincoln City are in trouble

Chesterfield are in most danger. They must vacate Saltergate at the end of the season & have no new ground to go to (share wuth Sheff United?).
They face an FA enquiry into lower march day crowd reporting, not reporting new player contracts, not paying ticket sales to Mansfield, not paying transfer fees.
In addition their Chairman has left & there are 3 separate factions who are fighting each other to gain control of the club.

?Palace? have laid off coaching & admin staff

...and we thought we had problems!!

Swindon could pay the money, but their chairman is threatening not to release the funds unless the local council give the club preferred bidder status for the land where they want to build their new ground. Seeing as this would probably open the council up to review from any disappointed alternative bidder it probably won't happen, although I wouldn't want to be a councillor seeking re-election in Swindon if he carries out his threat! A salutary tale for those suggesting we take a more hardball approach with Hounslow regarding Feltham!?

you forgot to mention hull and chesterfield. hull are skint and chesterfield could be thrown out of the league for 'financial irregularities' as the mirror has it
