As the Ealing Road End is going to be the new home end, do we need to lovingly rename it

In the past its been known as the:
  • Open End
  • Ealing Road End
  • Clock End
  • The Home End
  • The Eldarado Stand
  • Away End
  • The East Stand (Although probably only by Roy King)
So what do we want to call it now?

My initial thought was "The Royal Acorn"

A suggestion heard on Saturday was "The Potting Shed"

What ideas do you have or like the sound of?

List them below and maybe we can have a poll

New Name

I like the Royal Acorn.

The Bike Shelter was my first thought on the new roof

New Name

The "Nearly" Stand ' cos it nearly reaches the side - but not quite.

New Name

a) flog it for some much needed income
b) The Peter Gilham Stand, the man that shines like a beacon from the other office bods.
or
c) the 'Wheres my bloody sunglasses it wasn't like this in BRU and I e-mailed the club Stand'

New Name

Why not call it ''The Greg Dyke Stand''

New Name

Ealing Road used to be called Drum Lane previously.

New Name

How about 'The Ealing Road End' ??

New Name

never mind the name- will the "ealing road head cases" rear their ugly heads?

New Name

Why not call it ''The Greg Dyke Stand''

Cannot because it has something going for it

Must be THE GILHAM STAND ....................no question send your emails to

Come on mate you know what is best for BFC, just think of the publicilty if a stand is named after a supporter:fishing:

We are the Gilham stand griffin park griffin park we are etc etc

Was being sarcastic when I suggested the ''Greg Dyke Stand''
The Peter Gilham stand would be great although I think Matt Benham should be considered too

New Name

The "New Paddock" will do!:sorted:

New Name

Bernie Watson Stand......

dogs welcome...

New Name

The Murray Jones Stand. :sorted:

New Name

How about after the soap "home and away"

i bet we get loads of away fans still going into it by mistake, which happened last time it changed over.

New Name

In this day and age of sponsorship I believe we should start negotiations with Bells... :D

New Name

The Last Stand.

Failing that, the Potting Shed you mentioned sounds good, or the Greenhouse End.

New Name

as much as peter gilham is a decent chap and works all hours for the club it'd be a bit embarrasing naming a stand after him.

"COME ON NEW ROAD SING UP"

"COME ON REFRESHING BRAEMAR SOLUTIONS, OR WHATEVER THE HELL YOU'RE CALLED STAND, SING UP"

"COME ON THE STAND NAMED AFTER ME, SING UP"

i think it should be called:

'Ealing Road' because it's on Ealing Road. Genius.

New Name

Were you told to write that.

If we cannot get any sponsership for it, then I would opt for either the Peter Gilham Stand or Mathew Benham Stand.

:imwith:

New Name

While I applaud the ideas of Benham or Gilham, I think it's got to be one of the following: Blindell, Radley-Smith, Davey, Davis or (was it Rogers?), particularly in view of the fortieth anniversary.

Failing that, the Harry Curtis end.

New Name

Bill Axbey stand - the guy has supported the Bees for close to 100 years, Jesus he deserves something!!! :sorted:

New Name

It reminds me a lot of a long bus shelter. Ihope they keep the gates closed during the week or else people will be usiong it when queing for the 65.

Technically it's not a stand so should be called the something "terrace" until seats are installed.

New Name

i believe it was once upon a time called the 'bob a nob' stand

might attract more ladies and/or the pink pound ;)

New Name

The Summer Bay end.
Going along with the Home and Away theme!

When i look at it, it looks like there is one supporting beam missing on the new road side. Anyone else see that??

New Name

If we call it the Chiswick End it may increase the property value.

New Name

How about the "MFI stand". Delivered late with half the bits missing.....

or, the "Well p*ssed off for loosing my BRU seat" stand.

New Name

It should be the "Unsponsored Stand, please call 0208 568 9940 and ask for Peter".

New Name

I'm sure our leaders are securing the most lucrative sponsorship deal they can. lol

Of course the plastic roof means we can't scrawl the sponsors name on top so that will knock a few quid off what we get. Doh!

Part of the deal in receiving planning permission I believe. Couldn't have happened without it. Mind you, if the same attention is paid to the roof as the rest of the ground maintenance, it'll look sh*t within two years.
