new road

New Road is rubbish, Me and my mate we sat on the left side of new road near the away fans for yesterday game. We was singin red army and we r brentford super brentford but noone else could not b bother to sing over our bit of new road. If their want to see a our team win their better sort if out

People who sit on the left side of New Road are either:

-- families
-- old men
-- quiet folk

That's why they sit there, and why YOU shouldn't.

Get yourself down the right side of NR and you'll be fine.

Anyway, the whole ****ing crowd barely uttered a squeak on Tuesday, so holding the NR up as an example is hardly fair.

The right side of New Road try and get a bit of noise going. There just needs to be a few more and it could be quite good. So next time make sure you you're near the back and on the right side of the stand.

I went in New rd for the first time in ages on Tuesday and sat in the middle. Noticed a bit of noise coming from the right and shall go there on Saturday :)

new road

I have had throat trouble for a while now and Tuesday didn't help me shouting and hollering. So please forgive me but I shall be mute for Saturdays game against Blackpool but I will wave my arms alot.
Oh,and I sit on the left side of New Road.

new road

i won't be there on saturday because i'm racing, But when i come to the next home game, Wigan Iwant change and everyone singing we need to start it if we want to make brentford not a place for away fans.

new road

I'm gutted at the current state of the New Road, we used to always be the side getting the atmosphere going until those Millwall C U next Tuesday's stuck their oar in & got us kicked out of B block. The switching of the home ends has also leached our noisy support away (Although I'll forgive that for giving us back a decent 'end').

I moved to Brook Road upper last season (big mistake, can't go in the lower cos of short-arse girlfriend & occasional visits from little sis) but was really looking forward to getting back to B block this year & carrying the noizy boyz atmosphere round to our side. This just hasn't happened. I'm now wondering where to go next year, I'll always be a New Roader at heart (even last season when I didn't sit there I was 'the New Road Griffin Park' at away games) but is my only chance of experiencing a bit of a sing-song to go on the terrace where I won't be able to see?

Any ideas?

As I said earlier, I think the right side of New Road can become a good area for noise. It was spoilt before due to the Hate Corner image caused by stupid little mouthy kids giving it the biggun, everyone standing up, being right next to the away end etc etc. Now you will find that if your'e in the back two rows you can stand up and as long as people don't start taking the p1ss and mess about the stewards/police don't have a problem with it. It now looks like Brook Road lower have attracted some of the old Hate Corner style muppets (the ones that throw bottles, chant racist abuse) which is obviously affecting the majority in that area who like to stand and back the team with good singing.

There are a few people in the right side of New Road that try and start a song but due to lack of people joining in, they can't keep it up. It would only take another 10-20 people in that area who were up for singing to liven the place up.

new road

i sit right in the centre of new road and round me it is mostly families/old men/crazy people.however i have tried to start a few chants most of them falling on deaf ears.generally though at home games im not always in the mood to sing unlike away.the last 2 games ive gone to(port vale and plymouth)have probably been the quitest ive ever seen gp though-granted both were hardly glamour ties but it paints a bad picture of us bees fans.

I hear what everyone is saying, but from my experience - there are only 2 occasions when the Braemar Road and most of New Road join in with the singing:

1. Sometimes the whole ground will be alive for must win games like Brighton and the last 4 home games last season.

2. When the team put in a few tackles and look like they really want to win the ball. Unfortunately, more and more refs not only blow up for what used to be considered fair tackles - but they issue more and more cards. Tuesday's ref allowed the players to get away with a lot but he was inconsistent e.g., Hunty's slide from behind to win the ball cleanly and Mac's shove into the hoardings. I think managers and coaches are so scared of the cards that players are instructed to back off and try to cut down space rather than make tackles, but it is the "big" tackles that really get the whole crowd going.

How about trying to keep the Super Brentford chant going for the whole match like we always used to at away games?

Yes, stay in the New Road and let's get people singing again. Let's make Saturday the re-opening of B block of old and all those who like a sing song get your arses down there. (Wanna be hooligans need not apply).

new road

I'll be there mate, will have to get extra drunk saturday to generate extra atmosphere!

new road

My idea:

paddock as family stand

Braemar community giveaway and group tickets and so on and corporate stuff.

New road the rest. That would mean at least 2 sides could be heard, and everyone at every club knows the main stand isnt where the hardcore go, especially since they got rid of the terracing

At least we arent man ure or chelscum.

New Road was much better Saturday and it looks like 'B' block is now my new home after a magical win by the lads. Although it's gonna take a few more goals before I join in with Dangerous and take my top off or maybe just a few more beers.:D

new road

Yes, New rd is the place to bee! We'll teach those Brook roaders how to sing next game ;)

new road

The good thing about new road last time I sat there in the playoff semi final with Huddersfield is you have a good view of both ends of the pitch. Don't know about noise level still can't hear anything.
Let's make BFC a place for apposing teams to be scared to come due to excess noise from all parts of ground.

new road

the winds of change are blowing thru gp.....

I too decided to go back to New Road after many years in the paddock - too many toddlers and pensioners there now and I can never sit in the spot I want. Left side NR was truly awful and was very very quiet. Middle of NR was a little better - think I'll try out right side at the Wigan game. Oh, and I'll be smoking too.

new road

Having watched the Blackburn v Celtic game last night please please please do not turn the New Road into some freak show.

The Celtic end somehow reminded me of a cross between the Muppet Show and Beirut.... :(

"PUSH UP BRENTFORD"

Now there's lovely. :)
