New Score Boards

Not sure what to make of the new score boards until I see them in action. Look a bit cheap and cramped to me and concerned that they intend to take them to the new stadium according to the article on the OS. I would have hoped for far more sophisticated ones at LR like the ones you get at most Prem grounds.

The article suggests that they will be used as information boards at Lionel Road, not as the main scoreboards. That could just mean external directional signage.

Why don't they use them as information boards instead and get the old bloke back with the white coat climbing a ladder to hang the metal numbers up on a nail. Think he died of heart attack when we scored three in a minute against Rochdale in 1964.

I often forget what the score is when I'm watching football so I really like these information boards :yes:. It seems to me that they do exactly the same thing as the old information boards and they are an invaluable addition to Griffin Park. Change, but not that you'd notice. Great stuff and I'd much rather spend money on them than say, a striker who can place a ball accurately past a goalkeeper into an 8 metre by 8 foot whole from a distance of 12 yards. Pure spin - that's what this is. There would have been no new information boards if we'd have beaten Doncaster.

I liked the scoreboard at Bramall Lane i.e above the away supporters so they couldn't see it! Nothing to feel like they are missing out. Saying this, wasn't a scoreboard up on the wendy house at some stage several years ago??

I'd like to see the return of the old 'A to Z' board where the man goes round at half time hooking numbers to it so we know all the half time scores of the cleverley coded games. It wouldn't help us know the score of the game we're watching, but we all have mobiles now. We can ring Beesline if we forget. Or ask the bloke next to us :shrug:.

Like vcmazz, I often forget the score during the excitement of a match, so really missed seeing the scoreboard display. And I can't see the other one, as there is a post in the way. Well done Brentford!

The only real use they have is the clock, in which case some sort of clock would have sufficed :shrug:.
