New Work Friendly Style

Some of you may experience high volumes of Redness on your screen when using the GPG which may cause a distraction for you, your work colleagues and significantly, your employers. I have therefore created a new style called "Work Friendly" that can be picked from the drop down box at the bottom left of the screen that may be a little easier to use whilst "working". I have just thrown it out there without much testing but hopefully it will be usable. Any issues, post them here.

Yes, it's sh*t. They were sort of our colours once.

You can do that. Under Settings, Gneral settings there is a checkbox that will turn on / off avatars.

this has all just changed on my GPG. i was using the previous away colours, which were very office-friendly. now i don't have an Away Colours option, and this work-friendly thing looks quite different. why did anything change? i fear change

I deleted away colours. There will be a new style to replace it but as above, the old one was very sh*t and bright. Sorry but hopefully I'll have something you'll learn to love again in a day or so..

Work friendly, nor new away colours are now work friendly. Is there a limit to the number of styles? If not any chance of the old away colours back too?

Work friendly seems safe, I'd have gone a bit greyer, but it definitely does the job. Certainly away colours gave me a surprise this morning and am glad that's not my work option anymore. Can't imagine it would be anyones option unless Tiger Bee is a massive Richmond Tigers fan.

I like it. Only in small doses though.

I note that, apparently for the sake of mobile phone users, huge companies such as Paypal, Barclays, CNN (and soon, BBC News!) have all recently changed their websites to have a kind of amateurish, toytown look and feel with a childish font. This cannot be changed and irritates me immensely.

Little old GPG, however, actually cares about its users and offers choice.

Shame on them, and well done GPG.

It isn't there now.

Three new styles available from the drop down, all variations on the same theme. Home, Away and User Friendly. I'm aware of one or two remaining issues - Home Page, User Page - and they'll get looked at over time.

I'd be grateful for feedback for anyone who uses the new styles - good or bad - and if any does spot any issues, post them here and I'll get round to looking at them.

When you have a notification in Work Friendly (very nice by the way) - Notification background (when one has a notification) is a garish purple

Also looking above in this thread, I wonder if smilies can be turned-off for W-F and just have the underlying text?

Green is still there on the 'Forum' tab. Other styles all looking rather smart. I still find myself switching back to default though. It's as though I pine for it Rather like the Royal Oak and John Docherty. :shrug:

Another small oddity "Forum Rules" in the Menu Bar is in yellow, all other are white (WF mode). Low priority....

Now replaced with a slightly more subtle orange. Where it's vivid pink, it means I couldn't find what I was changing so my cunning plan worked. If anyone sees any more pink, it's not a choice I've made - just let me know where it appears.
