Newman's red overturned

According to Teamtalk, Newmans red card has been overturned today. FA have looked at it and say it was an accident. Can't see anything on the BBC tho'. Must say myself having looked at it again and again I would be surprised if it hadn't. :sorted:

Be interesting to see if there is an apology from Huddersfield, esp. Brandon.

He's still on the FA list:

Brentford FC Richard Newman 21/01/2006
Suspended from all football until the Club have completed 3 first team matches for a Sending Off in a match played on 21/01/2006.

From FA Website http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/SuspensionLists/

Suspended Players List

The Football Association deals with discipline for teams playing in the Premier League, Football League and steps 1 to 4 of the National League System.

Bearing in mind the FA site had nowt about the appeal on it I'd give it a day to catch up - they only seem to update the Disciplinary Latest page regularly when it concerns the 'stars' of our game :(

I just rang the FA and no appeal has been made by Brentford.

so he has a 3 match ban?

If Newman's is over turned no doubt Huddersfield's keeper will get his over turned too - He didn't even get close to Campbell!

is brandon the chap who had 10 stitches? if so, accident or not, i'm not sure he needs to apologize for getting his head in the way of newmans boot.

Of course he should - if he's going to go around head-butting innocent footballers boots then an apology should be the very least we get...

;)

Yes your right...what a bunch of useless ****s giving out wrong info:sad:

So how do all those other illustrious centres of journalism have this scoop and the FA's own web site and the BFC O/S does not?

Have the FA got anything better to do? Is there a leak? Do we need the NOTW to investigate? Did a sheik ask the questions? Shurely shome mishtake?

Newman's red overturned

My guess is that we're waiting for a "Martin Allen Update" - and he's away isn't he :(

You probably spoke to the postman there, I saw all the suits at Heathrow terminal 2 this afternoon, not sure where they were coming from but looked turds with their jackets on. Perhaps meeting with a Saudi N.O.T.W. reporter

Good news (I think) about Newman, wasn;t sure when I saw it on TV, looked like he had his studs up for a long time before the ball came off their guy, good anticipation:fishing:

sh*t news in my eyesas everyone who sits near me will know!

Newman is gash, hes only got one ball and that ends up as goal kick for the opposition every time. Would have been much better with a player whos got a bit of bottle and can pass.

I realise that they didn't tell you the truth and that was what I was trying to point out - I wasn't messenger-shooting at all, honest.

I realise we are all suffering from Cup Fever but was there really any need to telephone and bother the Football Association?

Well, as the man who would replace him is Hutchinson, we don't.

I fancy the cool head of Newman might be axactly what we need on Saturday, and I'm very pleased he'll be available to play at Bristol City.

From that udders board ...

i've not seen it but i'd be very surprised if any injury caused by a brentford player was 'accidental'

I've not seen who wrote that but I'd be very surprised if the author wasn't a knuckle-dragging low-brow oaf with jug-ears and a face like an old spud.
