Anyone know the real reasons he's not keen on Lionel Road anymore

Lionel Road was always a non-starter, for many, many reasons. There has been no progress since the first announcements and it's obvious that the SRA have no intention of giving the land to BFC, even if we set up a registered charity to own it! Now that the "Lionel Road Gang" is no longer represented in the corridors of power, DW can confidently state that expending further breath on it is just a complete waste of time. Say what you like about him, he's not stupid and is probably closer to stadium reality that the rest of us. The sooner the club's and supporters' ambitions are aligned to reality, the sooner we can get on with a realistic stadium objective. It has to be achieved with co-ordination and co-operation between the landowners, LBH (which may be one and the same), a commercial developer, another sports club (rugby of some code) and some commercial operator. It can never fly on its own.

Then why did Doug White tell us it would happen? Along with a nice monorail? And all we had to do to get it was let him be chairman of BFC, or at least a director? And is its demise connected with the fact that White wouldn't sign the whitewash (this is what's known as a "technical reason")?

Getting back to the title of the thread pleeeeeaseeeee....if for 100 years it has always been known as the New Road stand why is someone suddenly calling it the North stand bearing in mind 99% of fans wouldn't know where he was referring to and bearing in mind 99% of fans wouldn't know which way was North anyway but they sure as hell know where the New Road is?

I reckon the police call the stands North, South, East and West so that new bobbies and those unfamiliar with the patch don't confuse them. What is really stupid is when the safety officer and his team use the terms when talking to supporters who have never used these labels.

:yes: Twas always referred to as North stand when I was a steward back in the old days .

Maybe they should start selling Brentford compasses in the superstore?
