Do we have any spies at game today ? Anyone take their ladders with them, to watch and report back on proceedings and whether the mighty Maupay is making an appearance ?

Norwich friendly

Do we think it’ll be a ‘secret’ game or will the Club let us know line ups etc? Given it’s advertised on the OS you’d have hoped we’d get some info. Poss even a stream? I take it it’s at their training ground?

Surely we'll not get anything really. Otherwise what'd be the point of it being "behind closed doors" when they could have made some money from selling tickets?

A friendly against a lower league team surely wouldn't have attracted much interest from their fans, though?

Finding it difficult to see who else is out there at the moment, as this frigging bush is in the way. Should’ve brought my binoculars too !

Norwich friendly

The club twitter account seems to have woken up so maybe they'll be giving us some updates after all?

A "lower league team".........we're not exactly Boreham Wood!

(what's going to be interesting is if we find out who's playing for us - is Saturday going to be too soon to see two games with the anticipated first-team together?)

I think the “first team” will play 45 minutes together today and then hopefully as close to the full 90 as possible on Saturday.

There is some other geezer here .. 2 bushes along .. with a whippet and a cloth cap ! Swear I’ve seen him around somewhere before ?!

Norwich friendly

It’s a 4:30 pm kick off. So there’s no need for the posts above.......:grey:

Already stated and except for IDBI who sounds like he is on the  others are discussing normally!

think you have mixed IBAE and IDBI here. no need to add IBAE's poor attempts at comedy to IDBI's lengthy list of crimes :hat:

Chap 2 bushes down, sharing a beer with us .. he thought it was a 3pm ok too !!

Our starting XI for this afternoon’s behind-close-doors friendly against @NorwichCityFC (4.30pm kick-off).

Raya; Racic, Jansson, Jeanvier; Clarke, Jensen, Dasilva, Henry; Canós, Watkins, Marcondes

Interesting.......

So not a proper first team, and looks like we're:
- testing Racic again at CB with two other likely starters
- testing Clarke as cover for Henrik
- giving Jensen and Da Silva more game time to assess them
- playing the only two wingers we have
- testing Marcondes as striker again

Norwich friendly

Certainly a 3-4-3 but could the sequence indicate Watkins central attack?

Norwich friendly

Says they have been in Norfolk on a training camp. Neal and said (although he’s injured) were at jersey road yesterday so no Neal even on bench I presume

Definitely possible (even though I assumed Marcondes will be in the middle). Where's that guy with the binoculars?

It's a bit of a sh1t situation regarding Neal really. While it's a big 'if', in the event he is still here after the window shuts then he's going to be under-cooked in terms of match sharpness. I guess he won't be used in the opening match against Brum either if he's still here then. Very frustrating and not ideal, but I understand the financial risks involved for both the club and player.

could easily have happened anyway, though - we don't really know the extent of his knee injury anyway, do we? all part of the fun.

Yep its cack..we need to start the season well and the way its going we are going into it with no fit striker

I don't get it. McBurnie has been playing for Swansea and everyone knows that he's off. If Maupay's fit and still here then he should play at least some part in the coming friendlies. If we're saying 'we don't have to sell' but then allowing him to sit out games then it sends the wrong message, surely.

Norwich friendly

It is frustrating. Do other clubs have this? Tarks, Hogan, Gray and now this. Yarbolloids!

Norwich friendly

Think it’s ***** Maupay not playing! Is he signing for someone else or not!! If he’s our player, he should play! ( I take it he’s not there on the bench). What about Sawyers too!? Captain????

Scary that we are potentially going to start the season without 5 players who were the best in their position at the club:

Bentley
Konsa
Sawyers
Benrahma
Maupay

Regardless of the quality of the replacements thats a big turnover. Will take time to gel. The worst part is Sawyers, Benrahma, Maupay our 3 best players could all leave with only 2 weeks to go until the season starts! No way will we get relegated- still have too much quality, but if the worst happens and we lose all 3 i can not see us getting promoted. Irrespective of who we bring in.

Norwich friendly

Maybe Maupay and Romaine are on the bench ?...………...If not it looks like TF wants to see how we will cope without them ?. I know the DOF's will have players in mind but if we lose NM-RS and Said it will take a massive ask to see us get off to a good start

Where's the defensive midfielder with 2 a's and no s in his name?

I think you answered your question, McBurnie appears happy to play in these pre-season friendlies. Either that or Neal has come down with another chronic bout of agentitus.
