Carlisle 2 n Bees 0.
Nothing has changed. Sloppy defending No bite in attack. At least were consistant if nothing else. First half performance OK ish but fell away in the 2nd half. A defeat agaist Millwall on boxing day and were really in the sh*te

nothing's changed

We're really in the sh*te now.

You're right nothing has changed. we were promised a new manager - what happened??

You can not expect any different can you? It's the same set of players. At least they are giving a bit more effort then a few weeks back, but can they stop these silly mistakes?

We've been in the sh*te for weeks. We've got a new manager. With the transfer windows business can only be done in January.Too soon to slag him off IMO.

I dont expect him to select 4 teenagers and a 20 year old. That is just asking for defeat and is men v boys.

There are other options. He chose not to take them, but then you would expect the youth team coach to stick with his proteges wouldn't you even if we all know they aren't up to it. You cannot put that many kids in a team in this league and get away with it . Fitzgerald should know that, and its kind of alarming that he didn't.

Wonder how many more defeats it will be before we are looking for another manager !!

I hope for the future of Brentford Football Club that there is a plan B.
Six weeks from now, when Fitz makes Leroy look like Fergie, we'll need one.

Over to you Keith.

Fitz wont have much to spend, despite the donations from the fans. Its going to need an unprecedented change of fortune to get us out of this mess. We are in it up to our necks on and off the pitch; but looking forward, if we can pick up one or two half decent players, then we might escape relegation. We must back the man in charge and all pull in the same direction or we ARE doomed. Im sorry if there are a lot of cliches in this, but they do seem to express how I feel . Fitz may be out of a job in the new year, if we have not improved, but until then I believe we should all support him and the team(LESS FOLA).

We have quite a few so called strikers at the club when is one of them going to actually score, by the way we must be close to a club all time record, can't have been many times we have gone 21 games without a win, this is almost half a season

See my post on the Carlisle updates thread.

And don't forget that Jim Levack was telling us only a few days ago that Fitz has already reached agreement with a London Premiership side to let us have loanees for nothing or next to nothing.......

That's good enough for me and my strong advice is to get your butts down to the betting office, find out the best odds for Brentford to avoid relegation this season and "fill yer boots".

Will a couple of loan signings make much difference?
New manager has to have an immediate impact as did Maddus Doggus.

So which "new" manager playing which combination of our current very weak squad would have had us zooming up the table?

What are the other options? The players who got us here in the first place?

Fitz isn't an idiot, he'll select the team he thinks is the best available to him, not just his own youth team.

Fitz isn't an idiot.

If Fitz isn't an idiot, why would he accept a job which offers little in the way of suport from anyone who knows a **** about football - and is likely to see him in the dole queue before the season is out?

Well for starters I would have had Moore in the side not Ide. I would also have been looking to keep Osborne out if possible. I really don't think that O'Connor is effective in Midfield (that has been shown time and time again) so why are we playing Osborne when our "first choice" back four are all available.

Talking of O'Connor, if Fitzgerald wanted to make his mark from day one the first thing he should have done is take the captaincy off him. He is not a captain and never will be.

We are also suffering from the extended absence of our first team keeper which has now gone on far too long. Other clubs can hire loan keepers outside the transfer window (Gillingham have just got one from Luton). Why cant we. Soldiering on with an 18 year old for months on end isn't helping our cause. He is a prospect but has made mistakes and will continue to do so. It is not right to subject him to this at this stage of his career and a loan keeper should have been acquired weeks ago.

I expected to see some of these things addressed by Fitzgerald. I'll give him a chance but I expect to see him take decisions that make a difference not just carry on as though he was Leroy's assistant.

Maybe because it's one of the biggest challenges in the football league and if he could pull it off what a reputation he'd have.

My Fears confirmed- That team selection does not fill me with much confidence with Fitz at the helm!

nothing's changed

I have said this before, and I will say this again. We have over the past few years lost what in my opion were two very good managers. Steve Coppell and Martin Allen.

These two men both said through the media that this club lacks ambition. How right they are!.

What has changed since then?. Nothing! in fact the position has become even worse. Instead of pushing for a place in the championship we are faceing religation to Div 2. I have followed this club for the past 33 years, with little to cheer about. In fact I am sorry to say that religation may just about finnish me off. At the rate this club is progessing I will be drawing my pension before I have anything to cheer about.

I do not know who you blame is it Bees United, The board of directors or even those fans who have deserted the club over the years depriveing it of much needed income. Who ever is responsible are spoiling it for the fans who like myself have a love affair with this little club from west London.

When will things ever change?.

Sorry guys, but I think that the Scott appointment is a huge mistake.

I think that by appointing someone who has seen two ill fated management teams go by the wayside is a bad idea. He must already have the sense of the disappointment around the place and the sh*t attitudes of the players! The players would have wanted someone fresh (need to impress, therefore raise their game) and on the other side bring in a new Manager with new ideas who will bring a buzz to the place, who hasn't seen the mood etc around the club.

The board are liars, and useless......all mouth and nothing else.

Some of the worst choices I've seen by a club - it's testament to how mickey mouse they are by th fact that they didn't have the tenacity to get a recognised name to manage the side.

Not good.

Why I find absoluely fecking staggering that we still have such ignorant fans. You say you don`t know who to blame. Why not get your head out your arse and research a man named Ron Noades. Why your at it ask some questions about w&nker Herting and Rogers and how they sat back and watched. Do you not know for several years fans have been trying to save the club from administration and find some avenue of hope for the future? Of course I would like us to be pushing for the play-offs, but being realistic we must be happy to sadly just be trading.

I have to admit I am not excited by the Fitz appointment, but can anybody else provide an alternative who actually wanted the job.

I also think our squad is woeful and BFC must look at the whole contract offers situation in the future. There must be no more Llyod, Brooker, Heywood, Frampton, O`Connor, Slullason on silly money and on long term contracts. Must be £50,000 max and then bonuses.

If East Dean Bee's post is ignorant, what is this then? As far as I can see, a post that Dickens, Dyke, Griffin and all the other incompetents responsible for this current mess will be creaming themselves over.

Ron Noades has preceded the state we are presently in, yes. And Ron has also left us with little margin to work with, yes. But we cannot blame him forever and a day, and it is time to accept that many of the cock-ups over the past year have been huge, and furthermore solely caused by the current board -and it is time they are held to account.

nothing's changed

Then why didn`t he accept the offer?

Well we'd all like to know that. Maybe it was the sort of offer than nobody in their right mind would accept and maybe the Board should have realised that and made him a better one.

Having said that he doesn't seem to have burnt his bridges with the interview he gave in the Oxford Mail. He certainly wasn't slagging Brentford off so maybe after a few more defeats and goalless games our Board might see some sense and re-offer it to the person the panel thought was the best applicant.

Alternatively, maybe Fitz might surprise us all and call them all in for training tomorrow, take the captaincy off O'Connor and sign a loan keeper in time for Millwall................

when we get beat by millwall on boxing day we should be calling for the heads of the interview panel

why did we not employ the first choise candidate if we were a fans run club we would know the answer !!!!

But those lads all did alright. Wouldnt pick Pinault, Oli or Brooker ahead of any of them myself. To think that those 5 youngsters probably struggle to earn between them what Oli gets in a week says more about the higher earning misfits in our squad than it does for the kids who at least show some pride wearing the shirt.
Cant really judge Fitz until January IMHO when he can freshen things up a bit - this isnt his squad but he at least has jettisoned most of our deadwood from the starting eleven:wave:

Ide, Cox and Mousinho have probably been our three best players in teh last two away games.

This thread is knee-jerk nonsense from people who didn't watch a game they aree commenting on IMHO.

Thats fair enough chaps, but were lacking goals big time!,its no good uping your performance if your not getting results.Individual players need to turn games around with results, not just getting the thumbs up!:nono:

And no-one is saying that we don't need our results to turn immediately, 13 hours time would be nice :sorted:

But in the first five posts of this thread, someone said nothing has changed and another blames the manager for picking young players.

We created more chances and forced more saves at Carlisle than I can remember in the last month, yet nothing has changed
And our young players are currently our best players yet we shouldn't pick them

These posts came when I hadn't even started my journey back from Carlisle and as such I am dismissing them as completely rubbish :sorted:
