I could be imagining this (although fairly certain I'm not) but I seem to be getting fairly sporadic notifications of replies to my posts (perhaps likes but that's harder to spot). Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this.

Yep. Always been the case. No rhyme or reason which replies I get notifications about.

This has happened randomly before and I have no explanation I'm afraid. It usually sorts itself out in a while. If it doesn't, my suggestion is to turn the device off and go and make a snowman.

Don't worry....I'm sure all it'll just mean is a few people getting slightly offended that I'm now randomly giving them the cold shoulder and not replying to their posts :)

Watch out for the Big Lizzard though.

I'm sure I used to get notifications for quotes and likes to my posts.

I have turned (back?) on the option to receive notification of "likes" in my settings, but I no longer get notification of quotes, nor is there an option.

As a no-longer-regular visitor I found these notifications useful. Has something changed?

AFAIK no notifications on mobile phone version. Have to check on 'full site' from time to time.

I'm on the full site on a PC with "GPG Desktop" style

It seems to depend on which forum you post on. I don't seem to get them if I post on "Chit chat", but I can live without that....

Has been reported a few times.......all seems very random and Les and 'Nana can't explain it from what I remember........

no i think we did work out that it's something like quotes from desktop users trigger a notification, but quotes from mobile users don't. or t'other way round! :D (running away as this is as technical as i go...)

I got a notification from Humblebee's quote but not from Hatfield Bee. Maybe you only get a one if the member is sufficiently humble?

Thanks Mr Tree. All very strange. well as long as it's not just me.
PS I've edited this quote in so that will probably upset the system even more.

What would life be without mystery and wonder? The dual sparks that ignites humanities desire to seek to understand to gain knowledge, to improve our brief lives and those of our children as we hurtle through space on this fragile rock.

Who can look at a sunset or an absent post notification and not ask why?

I trust this resolves the matter.
