Notts have strengthened their squad from last season but have so far underachieved.
The front two of Stallard and Allsop are starting to forge a real understanding and have had no trouble scoring. Darren Caskey, although not the influence he was in his best years at Reading, has added some creativity in midfield and Marcel Cas is a useful addition in right midfield. Owers still gets a game but Notts fans give him almost as much stick as we do.

In goal, Mildenhall is a pretty good replacement for Darren Ward (now over the river at Forest) but an unsettled defence has been leaking goals, particularly when they try to defend a lead. Simon Grayson has been brought in from Blackburn to tighten things up but Ian Baraclough (ex QPR) at left back is a real donkey.

I don't expect it to be easy - perhaps
