NOTW today

Says we will finish 16th this coming season.
It calls Martin Allen 'an inspirational boss'.
'It could well be a long, hard battle just to keep the club in the top half of the table'

NOTW today

16th will be about right i think!!!

NOTW today

Reckon they're spot on.

NOTW today

Right now I'd take 16th.

NOTW today

agree with what they say. Actually quite surprised by the prediction, getting so peed off with uninformed reporters, who put in no real research, see we have missed the play-offs the last two seasons and come up with 'should be in the play-off mix' and 'will be there or there-abouts'. Well done the NOTW.

if we play to our potential...23rd

Sorry!

i think you'll find there will be clubs a lot worse than Brentford !

just hope we can get to 50 odd points quickly enough so we can take it easy for the last 2 months like we did last season !!!!

or even go into administration once we know we can't get relegated :fishing:

NOTW today

at least we can't be bottom for the first 3 or 4 weeks!

NOTW today

Leroy must think automatic promotion is a realsitic goal, so maybe theres something the fans have missed

I think last season will be a lot better than this season. So I hardly think we will be taking anything easy.

I really hated last season, especially the last three or four months of it. I don't think we will be as bad as we became once Allen lost the plot.

And I for one hope your right Ed.I will be the first one on here to hold up my hands and apologise. Now I can't say fairer than that Ed.

Don't forget that requires 10 extra points to be gained to ensure we don't get relegated as a result of administration. :nono: :nono:

because Rotherham start on minus 10 for being northern.

Did they really get punished for being Northerners ? Seems pretty fair if true .How come Swansea have escaped any form of such treatment for their geographical position ?

NOTW today

If guaranteed anywhere between 16 and 20 now, I would accept without hesitation.

This will be a very long and trying season.

I must admit to having similar feelings,Ed. Allen's style of play was so predictable, there was seemingly no self expression allowed- I thought the team was really stagnating and lacking self-belief despite our lofty position.

I'm hoping at least the side have a bit of heart, passion and enterprise this season. And I'm hoping watching Brentford becomes fun again.

Totally agree but the corollary of that is that MA's team was well drilled, organised and very hard to beat particularly away from home.

I await our away performances with keen interest this season and hope we do not become a soft touch.

Because the powers that be decided they had already suffered enough because of the accents.

Oh my aching sides.

didn't they predict us as sure fire relegation candidates two seasons ago????
Let's see what happens. Leroy's got a tough season ahead, wouldn't be Brentford if it was too easy :)
i'll except 16th, prefer 6th, but oh god please dont' let us go down

A few? This coming season will be my 29th supporting the Bees and I've only seen two relegations and neither of them seemed anything like this season.

I agree... Also if leroy attempts to play football next season its all well and good and what most people would want to see at GP (myself included).

BUT do weak under funded teams who play football stay up in this league???? I think not weak teams that are hard to beat and play huff ball have a better chance especially away from home.

Basically I cant see us playing our way out of relegation trobule :( :( :( :( :(

35th and agree, we've had far worse and LR hasn't got in the his full quota and at least he's hedging his bets and not signing anybody who'll come.

Think we'll win enough home games playing football to survive, but expect one of the worst away records with a light weight midfield/forward line.

I could be wrong, but Colchester and Southend did not exactly splash the cash around did they? And last season they were two of the best footballing sides I have seen in this division for years.
However, their respective squads had been together for a number of years and just needed a bit of fine-tuning (Shaun Goater, Mark Yeates) to give them that little extra.
Just playing devil's advocate. Bottom-half is my prediction, but I think we have enough to stay up. :bound: ... with another signing or two.

NOTW today

For what its worth I think we will finish about 10th

I'm with Ed on this one.

Can I also add that the strongest teams on paper aint always the best teams in the league.

Our team last seson was affraid to loose and once ahead panicked themselves into 4-5-1 and invited the opposition to equalise or they started so negatively that they didnt really get going until they were 1-0 down.

I think we will emulate Colchester next season, a steady start and we have gelled and possibly strengthend the team were needed a storming finish (The pressures off when your coming from behind).

We have lost a few good players but our defence still looks strong and our midfield isn't exactly weak. We've struggled up front for the last two seasons and have not done bad. This year with the emphasis on attacking play I think we will do better in front of goal.

NOTW today

i agree streetboy.. but with Eastwood southed were allways gonna score goals ,, i just hope our forwards click.

NOTW today

I reckon a play-off push might suprise everyone, LR wouldnt go for automatic promotion without a reason....Would he?

The times today: say it going to be a long hard season for LR, but it did name Jo Kuffour as a signing to watch
