I know it was a poor game tonight but I am really beginning to appreciate the efforts made to keep the ball more. It needs work but I believe that we're getting there.Idaho Bee said:P.P.S. Thought John Salako did a good job commentating and obviously still has a soft spot for the Bees.

Just after the goal we played the ball around the left back area Turner, Tillen and Newman mainly. Eventually we created the space we needed and Campbell came short, ran at the defence and got a 25 yard effort away. People around me were practically foaming at the mouth, eyeballs bulging shouting "get rid, get rid ..."
When Lloyd scored, those same people around me were saying "yeah but he's still sh*t" whereas I took the namby pamby view that the guy worked hard all game, got the break he needed and I was therefore pleased for him.
I really don't know whether some people will ever be happy watching Brentford.

The H said:you were advocating the 'give a bad pass back to Nelson' approach
i do know that teams are unlikely to concede if the ball is in the opponents half
and there was plenty of space to do it higher up the pitch...

Our promising attacks lose momentum too quickly too often.

Because Oldham would have to agree toobeedeleted said:Why does the club not see sense and instead of always asking us for money reduce the prices for at least season ticket holders?
beedeleted said:Newman was a disgrace. In fact I would go further and say that was the most wretched individual performance i have seen for many seasons. He did not tackle nor run. He passed only backwards often breaking up our attacks. His free kicks were appalling. He did not motivate his team. At the very least turner should be club and team captain again.

I thought newman was excellentbeedeleted said:Poor crowd and little real atmosphere at the game other than when we scored and their player was sent off. Why does the club not see sense and instead of always asking us for money reduce the prices for at least season ticket holders?
The team were passionless and unmotivated and in addition played poorly. Oldham were worse. Why anyone would watch them who knows. Thugs and absence of skill.
Owusu was man of the match. He ran all game but then he had to because he never got any service from midfield. Midfield apart from Tabb and the occasional useful run from Brooker went missing tonight. Not a decent tackle nor pass all game. Furthermore they dont help the defence much. Newman was a disgrace. We won becasue oldham were unable to score and had a poor keeper , maybe the worst keeper in the division.
Lessons should be learnt from this game. Make no mistake the atmosphere amongst the crowd was very poor and against a decent team we would have lost tonight.

I thought the ref had an excellent game. He was easily the best man on the pitch! I don't really recall him getting anything wrong. Can we have him every time pleaseLes Beeavinu said:Oldham were thugs who could have had more players sent off and the guy who did get sent off should have got a straight red. Despte all that, the ref managed to keep a lid on it by taking the right action at the right times.
