I have been attending GP for over 60 years and for about 40 of them have been a ST holder, I have travelled the length and breadth of the country watching my team fail to perform, I have seen us flirt with relegation from the football league and nearly go out of business
However in the last few years I have seen us become an established championship team rightly acknowledged by most as a team that plays some wonderful football, envied by many for the way in which we acquire players and look after them. Envied for the stable manner in which our club is run in fact a blueprint that many would like to copy
Then I see some of the comments regarding style of football and what we need to make us tougher and more clinical and wonder just what fans expect.
Cardiff will most probably get promoted and benefit from the vast sums of money dished out, however they seriously need that cash injection as the salaries they pay are astronomical.
Yes it would be nice to get promotion, if for nothing else than for MB to get some of his cash back, but personally I wouldn’t swap our style of play for anyone. At some point it will all click together and not only will we gain promotion but do it with style
The Brentford way of playing and buying and selling players is admired by many, the Cardiff cloggers are the anathema of football, our time will come and it will come the right way in the meantime finishing in the top dozen of the Championship yet again is testimony to the way the club operate on a limited budget. I am sure the likes of Sunderland and Birmingham would like our problems!!!!!!!!
