Southampton would need to win 7 and Leeds/Leicester would need to win 6 to catch us.

I can’t see any remote possibility of any of these teams doubling their number of wins in the last 10 games of the season.
If any do, lump on them emulating Leicester’s title win next season!

Says an awful lot about our upward trajectory that we are disappointed that we didn’t get a result at Old Trafford.

Looking at our squad compared to the majority of other clubs it is clear that all our players need to be on their A game at all times whereas other teams can manage players being below parr and have a squad of top class players to cover injuries suspensions etc.

The fact that we have been mentioned as having a chance to get into Europe is a real credit to the coaches and efforts of the players and even if we lose against Newcastle and drift down the table a little this season has been a massive success and shows the rest of the leagues how to run a football club with a limited budget

Still only a point off 7th with Villa to come to us - yes we have a hard run in on paper but who knows?

We have had two really difficult away games in four days and, although we weren't at our best, we could have had four points from them.

Away at the North Devon coast for a few days walking and wish to put a shout out to Richie the Bee who gave us a lift in his taxi one morning. He's been down there for quite a few years now. Nice to bump into to Bees fans around the country.

Answer two questions

1) Would you rather in our position or be in a headlong plunge to League 1 and even if you avoid relegation you are probably nailed on next year

2) Who woud you rather have as the DoF, someone who has split loyalties twice a year but otherwise does an outstanding job or somone who once vandalised the Blue Peter Garden but is now vandalising the club tha he claims to love?

Last season, four teams did the double over us. Today was the first negative double of the season and only Villa can match that achievement, whereas we can still do the positive double over Liverpool, Wet Spam and Manchester City to add to Southampton.

There have been very few times in my 50+ years watching the Bees when I’ve walked away from a defeat (let alone a home defeat) and thought “yeah, whatever…”

We’d just lost - unfairly- to a team in the Top 4 of the Premier League, we’re nailed on to finish in the top half of the most competitive league in the world after a lifetime, literally, in the nether regions of the ninety two. The sun was shining, and beers with the best mates you could ask for were waiting. No end-of-season dramas, no play-off heartaches, in store, just chilled times at the top of the PL.. and who knows what next week, next season?

I’m sure many 100s if not 1000s of old skool Bees were thinking similar thoughts. Happy days! ☺️

Not sure it was "yeah whatever". However the rest is right, we're getting frustrated at getting nothing at home against a top four team shows how far we have come.

Of all the penalties IT could have missed for us, today's was probably the least important.
Got a couple of records out of the way yesterday.

Ivan's missed penalty.
Not having lost when we have taken the lead.

the last three results are no worse than the same fixtures last season.
also the next three last season was 9 pt s so who knows?

Some perspective needed. Always disappointing losing but only the top 4 have lost less games than us and we have lost our last 3.

Of the sides we have yet to play, the three London sides are a bit fragile at the moment. Liverpool have had a poor season by their standards and Forest are crap away. The title may have been decided by the time we play City who may be more concerned with the Champions League. Hopefully we bounce back against Villa, we tend to raise our game against good sides.

10 years ago tomorrow, we drew 2-2 @ Sheffield United in the third tier. The following game we drew 1-1 @ Hartlepool. I can’t even name the game after that one. ?

We are doing amazingly well.

Rubbish post, too much living in the past. ;) I prefer - a year ago today, we were just about to beat Watford away after previously beating West Ham at home and Chelsea away.

Having arrived home from today’s game I have just read through each entry in the match thread and as everyone knows after each game the comments cover the good and bad from both extremes. Some choose to comment on the latest player who has previously impressed having a poor game and must be replaced, etc. whilst some try and put a positive spin on the result/performance, and each is entitled to their opinion, within reason, but I think sometimes we forget that the players are playing to the manager’s tactics and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t work as well as intended. This is not a criticism of Thomas or of any specific player, but I think we need to give the team some slack.

We’ve achieved over and beyond what could have been expected this season and set such exceptionally high standards that we now go into each game with a belief that we can get a result against any team in the league. Perversely, that means when the team don’t achieve the results that we, perhaps, expect then all of a sudden we’re a poor side which, in my view, is not the case. And just because the opposition may be below us in the league table doesn’t mean that they are not as good. We all know that the PL is full of very good teams with highly talented players and each result has to be earned and across the season there will be games where we don’t expect to win and we do and those where we expect to win and we don’t.

Recently, we’ve come up against teams who are in a good run of form and although points gained have been few we haven’t been totally outplayed. To lose today against Wolves to x2 ricochets was unfortunate and disappointing, but I personally think that playing Aston Villa at home next week will be a good thing. Villa had a good win today against a very poor performance from Newcastle and we are at home and whenever we’ve played against a ‘better’ team at home we’ve usually got something out it. The Gtech will be rocking as we get behind the team and the team, itself, will want to put on a good show for the fans, as always.

So keep the faith and let the team know that we’re on their side!!

Absolutely fantastic season and one where we are likely to finish top half on a bottom one budget!

That is what, the 11th incredible season in a row ?

The squad is worn out, that is obvious and anyone who wants to criticise is a fool and needs to remember that until 11 days ago we had lost just once in 16 EPL starts!

We have used the second fewest number of players in the PL (25) and 32% of those (8) have played 500 minutes maximum, several significantly under that.

This will be addressed as everything always is at this incredibly well run club and we are only going to get stronger season on season.

Never thought I'd see a season where Brentford had victories against Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea. Aggregate score in these four games: 11-2.
its mad , i still do a double take when i see posters in the pub advertising our games

Unbelievable and the day we went up, City and Chelsea were playing in the Champions League final and we beat them both away this season.

Just about to head out for dinner and (more) drinks. But still remember when the fixtures came out at the start of the season and most were like hope we are safe before May. Ladies and gentlemen we have obtained 96 points in less than two season of the PL. The quality in our play wasn't there today but to get 50 points is such a wonderful achievement for a club like ours. I am annoyed how the club are targeting some loyal fans who are only showing passion for the club but on the field we are achieving and how. Can anyone name me the last club who beat city and Chelsea away in the same season? I am a proud Bee and love seeing over the last 12-18 months how many people are wearing the famous red n white shirt around London and other parts of the country. I don't give a sh*t what happens in our final 4 games of the season (but will be disappointed if we don't get 12 points) but lets us all enjoy the ride. This has been such a wonderful season. Love this club. Onwards and upwards.
