Never got to ask him that,but i did remind GR of the night we toasted the birth of his child on the way back from Swansea in 1985.

I am sure it’s been posted in various guises before but looking at the National League table I was still amazed at so many clubs we regarded as regular opponents (& so many grounds we often used to visit) battling it out there- Southend, Yeovil, Dagenham & Red, Hartlepool, York, Rochdale, Halifax, Barnet Oldham. How lucky we are to be looking forward to playing Villa , Newcastle, Arsenal, Chelsea etc as equals in the next few weeks all the while knowing we can plan to do it all again next season. Just to repeat - what a time to be a Bees fan ,especially if you are in the heritage group (old farts))

Was trying to put a date on when the good times started at Brentford and how old you have to be to remember our dark days.

Championship promotion was 2014, so assuming someone started going regularly at 14 yrs old, then 25 yrs old and under have only known the good times.

Bees United transferred control of the club to Matthew Benham in 2012, and the last few seasons in League One from 2010 onwards were all top half.

Therefore, after three paragraphs of highly unscientific analysis & babble, you, remarkably, have to be over 30 to have witnessed the real dross.
