Optimism & Hope

The longer this week has gone on the more optimistic and hopeful I have become that we may actually get the two results we need for automatic promotion on Saturday.

We have nothing to lose, guaranteed 3rd place, no pressure on us, all the pressure on Colchester to get a point.

Do Colchester play for a draw or try for the win?

Playing for a draw invites pressure, whilst going for 3 points could leave them open at the back.

On too many ocassions we have been in their position and blown it, perhaps it is now the turn of Brentford to acheive the unlikely and nick that last automatic promotion place.

With the Bees faithful in full voice and nothing to lose, who knows what will happen, the unlikely might just become reality.

Lets believe, get behind the team and have a great afternoon on the South Coast.

I hope David W£bb has a poor memory ... and does not get his long awaited revenge on us :(

Surely he will be wanting Southend to be champions so will be pushing Yeovil to win

You know what? For a club that has one of it's best midfielders out injured, for a club that had to suffer countless number of injuries earlier this season, for a club that has its top striker out of contention through injury whilst playing in a meaningless game, for a club that was hours away from administration, for a club that has constant speculation over its manager's future, for a club that had to sell the best striker because we couldn't deny the player a move upwards, WE AREN'T DOING BLOOMIN' BADLY.

If you told me at the beginning of the season that we'd be third in the table, and still had a slight chance of automatic promotion at the end of the season, I'd have bitten your hand off.
Play-offs might have been disappointing for us, but we have reached the finals before, which gives us a chance of getting promoted. Personally, I appreciate the chance to do this. It sure the **** beats sitting at home with the missus on a Saturday.
Just compare us to Nottingham Forest, Barnsley, Huddersfield, Swansea, all supposedly bigger clubs than us, yet we are still shoving two fingers up at the rest of them.

So come on everyone! Get behind the lads for this Saturday, and rally yourselves one more time for the play-offs. A chance of being promoted is much better than no chance at all. Make it worthwhile for the lads. Let's be where they are in our numbers. Let them look around and see a sea of red and white stripes. Let Martin Allen look at the most passionate and loyal fans in England and let him remember why he is doing this. Sometimes, it is the fans who must lift the team. The team, the fans, the club must be as one.

I don't understand how you can come to this conclusion about Skulason????

We have not seen him play to justify a 'best' tag

When I read the thread title, I wondered whether we might be getting a couple of loanees in for tomorrow:D

Remember WBA last season, didn't they need about 3 results to go their way to avoid the drop, and they did

Alright, fair enough, but from what I've seen, he can't be worse than Newman.

well there wasnt after the Championship win at Cambridge when we got back ,place was a morgue

Ron took the squad to his house, not good.... But Bigbee, you had a big, broad, massive & large curry. Plus crack from the Potters... Good scenes!

Optimism & Hope

Yes I may have moaned about MA's tactics over the past few weeks (and IMHO I was entitled to) BUT...

Now is the time for optimism. You're right, if we were in Colchester's position, only needing a draw, I would be in a complete state right now. Because auto promo is almost out of our reach, we can be more relaxed and hopefully get the win we want, then pray that Prince Harry is banging them in against United. Even if it's just to gain confidence for the play-offs, it would be great to get a positive result today!

So I promise not to moan today and give the lads all the support I can!:sorted:

P.S. Of course it will be a miracle if we do it today but I think we're well overdue won of them right now!!!

:hat: Up The Bees! :hat:

Optimism & Hope

Yeah, it's about time fate went in our favour again.....it's 5+ years since we won @ B'mth; we've generally played better & got better results away from GP this season; in the recent past we've done what's required when the last game has been away from GP, it's only at home that we cock it up.....I could go on, but you get the drift.

(Still wearing my Mystic Meg hat, then Oxford U. might as well not turn up today; they're gone because 40+ years ago they replaced.....Accrington Stanley!)

Optimism & Hope

Right, morning everyone. I am very excited and full of a lot of Optimism and Hope.

I think we can do this, and I am looking forward to a great day out. Let's make sure there is a great atmosphere for the boys to do their stuff.

And come on Yeovil !

See you all later, off to the Cafe now for a nice fry up before heading down to Sunny/Rainy Bourney.

Optimism & Hope

Other than winning of course I think it is very important that we play very well today. Our form has been, erm, questionable of late so it would be good to go into the playoffs on the back of a good performance.

I wont be there today because I cant get out of attending a wedding (stupid friends) and I am gutted because I know I am going to miss a great showing from the Bees faithful and possibly (hopefully) the best day since Peterborough '92.

Do us proud lads!

....hope is still in my dictionary, but optimism has gone...................

I had hope and optimism about KetteringBee until I realised he was p!ssed beyond repair at MK at approx 8.37 am.
All helped towards a good day out though.
