Our first visit

Hi All.

We are 4 friends in early 40s from Denmark - that is planning a trip to see Brentford for our first time. Our plan is to come over to watch the match 22/5-22 vs Leeds.

But how do we ensure we can get tickets ? It seems like we cant get any guarantee to get tickets, until 2 weeks before the match ?

Who can help us with guides to the best Pubs with lots of Brentford fans, both before and after the match ? And a place they serve Guiness or John Smith :-D

What hotel in the area can you recommend ?

I am really sorry if all these questions has been asked many times in here. Please then guide me to any article that potentially can answer my questions.

And big congratulations to all Brentford fans - for getting Christian Eriksen. I am sure he will be a great success for all here ..

Would it be easier to get ticket for the match vs Southampton 7/5? Just want to ensure we don't run into any covid restrictions...

Lol, this season we have had alot of oppositon fans trying to get tickets in the home areas. Apologies if youre legitimate but you may find some people sceptical on here

If you can make it to Everton this weekend I think there will be tickets still . Although the home fans may start buying them from us

Here in Denmark all restrictions were removed from tomorrow. How is it in England? Do you think we can expect the same there in May time?
If yes maybe we can even arrange for an earlier trip.. Just don't want to run I to covid restrictions...

Not sure about COVID restrictions for incoming travellers, but (although a preview for the Wolves game) this contains lots of useful information for visitors to the BCS. Pub news is towards the bottom.

Unless you're already Members, you'll need to purchase tickets for any game between now and the end of the season through "unofficial" routes.....

Thank you - but we need to arrange many weeks ahead - with wifes/kids at home :-) And I believe that so far the restrictions are still a bit though in England for foreigners..
But I read it as it is possible to get tickets for matches without a seasoncard, if we just select a match vs. a team in the lower half of the league ?

Do you mean from seasoncard holders that "sell" matches? I would prefer to get tickets in an official way, so we dont travel that long and suddenly dont have tickets for the match. We are not members of the club...

In theory you have no chance. In reality there are club partners that sell tickets, but you have to support the opposition. If you email [email protected] and explain to him that you are devout Leeds fans that HATE Brentford then you're a shoo-in.

There is an official route for Season Ticket holders to sell unwanted tickets, which is the "Ticket Exchange", but again you have to be a Member to purchase tickets on this.

Some Season Ticket holders sell unwanted tickets via "personal" sales, but generally only to "known" Brentford fans.

There are also tickets available (at inflated prices) on various ticketing websites.....

Hmmm.. That is exactly why I ask questions here - to get help understanding where our chances are best, if we decide to travel over and see a game with Brentford.. A bit sad. But ok - football is very popular in England - I understand. It sounds like we need to go for a League one match instead, if we want to be sure to get tickets...

So you haven't choosen the best time.

Best way is to email [email protected] and ask how overseas supporters such as yourselves can obtain tickets for a one-off match.

Do not choose Leeds though. That's just silly.

Yes - that is what I understood from the first answers I got in this thread.. I am used to it from the danish forums, with very enthusiastic fans :-) It is just a bit hard sometimes to understand fully, because you have so many funny slang words you use... So I was not sure if people were sarcastic in the beginning..

We will see if we can make an earlier trip then... Southampton match seems like a good option..

Thank you for your email and hope you’re well !

Each fan would need to purchase Membership with the club, please see information below regarding membership and match tickets below. It is 1 ticket per member and tickets are subject to availability. We do not reserve tickets due to high demand and availability for all PL games. The game in question will have more information released around 4-6 weeks prior to the game and it will release on our club website.

You can't buy membership any more. You need to find an official reseller in Scandi. email tickets@ and ask them who their official partner in Scandi is

Harpiks85, assuming you are real Danish fans I'm sorry you have had to run the guantlet of scarcastic responses to your request.

Unfortunately, Brentfords stadium is very small with a capacity of only 17,500, and as we are in the Premier League the demand is high and the capacity is low.

Your best bet of seeing an English game with decent football and good atmosphere is to pick a Championship game (tier 2). Any of the top 10 teams would do.

As West London is close to Heathrow if you are flying in, then the two options around here are our nearest rivals - Fulham and QPR.

Fulham has a large ground so should be easier for tickets (though one stand is closed for refurb and they are top of the league). Their atmosphere is considered to be a "bit gentile" compared to most english clubs.

QPR has a smaller more old fashioned ground and will have a more "gritty" atmosphere more akin to what is a typical english crowd. (lots of moaning and swearing going on).

If you are still interested in seeing Brentford in the future due to our large Danish contingent, I would suggest taking out membership (20 pounds each person) and trying again next season. Tickets often go on sale for the less glamorous games for members with 0 loyalty points (TAPs) but you have to be quick on the finger to get them at the prescribed time, and getting 4 tickets together would be very unlikely.

Don’t want to open a whole new can of worms here but I think you mean ‘genteel’. (BIB)?

don't think travel will be a big issue for you - but that's one to just research in general with your foreign office, etc.

for the match, for sure the last game of the season would be tricky - it's always a big "event" in the English season, even if a team is finishing an average season, it's a chance for a final party before two months without football :(

and particularly this one, given that it could be a huge game (hopefully it would be 14th vs 15th, but it could well be 17th vs 18th!!). and Leeds have a lot of fans, and a lot of non-London clubs tend to have big communities in the capital city so they can be over-subscribed and looking for other ways to get in...

so it's a little bit tricky, and hard to guarantee. Banana has written some unhelpful hints (don't write to Lofbergs :D ) but finding out who our Scandinavian ticketing partner is would probably be the best bet. good luck and hope you make it!

If they all take out membership the best chance of getting 4 seats together would be to have each of them registered as friends and family and to phone for tickets rather than buy online. If they get through quickly enough the ticket office is pretty helpful and particularly in the East Stand there will be larger sections of seating to choose from. Or even just being seated in the same block would probably do.

Thanks for taking time to answer me. I will for sure see if I can find a partner here in Denmark..

The many danish players playing for Brentford, would have been choice number for us to come over and watch play. But based on answers in this thread, it seems like we should go for QPR again - as we did last time we went on tour a few years back. Loftus road was a great place and they have that nice cozy stadium...
