Parking ticket

A bit of advice needed if poss.I have been parking in the same road for the past 8 years(Pump Alley opp Somerfields)& have had no problems. However when we played Peterborough at home (a large crowd)a few cars were issued with parking tickets, fortunately I never got one.But today (another large crowd)I was issued with a parking ticket along with a few other unfortunate motorists. Is it worth paying the £30 pounds?or ignoring it & hope they don,t pursue it.As I live outside of the borough I have no idea what Hounslow are like on following these things through. However on a much brighter note, what a fantastic result.Come on you Bees   :D

Can't help you on your query, but i remember parking outside the chippy in Brook Road (oppo the Griffin) one year, and the basturds towed my car up to Hammersmith. I thought some toerag had nicked it.

Be careful peeps if you park too close to a junction.

Hounslow are b*stards on parking tickets. I reckon you're gonna have to pay it realistically. I know it's cr*p, but pay it whilst it's still only £30, and be grateful that we won and it wasn't raining.
I found the best parking place today - in that estate right opposite the Braemer Road. I only arrived at 2.30, and there was loads of space to park - genius. I always used to park in Mcdonalds (yes I know it's cheeky and illegal), but it seems increasingly hard nowadays - the spaces go pretty quick.

I picked up a ticket after parking in Pump Alley as well.

Don't Hounslow Council let their staff celebrate bank holidays? :)

I got one a fortnight ago v. Wycombe. Held up on M11, arrived late. Had to park off Great West Road. No signs to say no parking, etc. Ticket timed at 3.10p.m !... i.e. lets wait till the fans are safely in the ground and then do them for £30. Local authority supports local club as usual. They'll be rubbing their hands at the thought of all the money they'll be able to rake in from tagging cars at Huddersfield and Reading.

Check and make sure you were not disobeying any obvious parking restrictions. If there were none readily apparent then appeal.

Hounslow have the best (or worst depending upon your point of view) record in London of having appeals upheld. From recollection approx 80% of appeals are successful. Even if your appeal fails you can, if you are confident of your ground, take the ticket to the independent adjudicator to let him determine its validity.

Check your ticket carefully to ensure that you do not fall fail of the correct procedure, as you may needd to pay up within the 14 days whilst your appeal is being considsred, otherwise the penalty will go up to double.

Rememeber, these are Civil Penalty Charge Notices (PCN's) that are issued by Parking attendanats on behalf of thelocal authority, in this case LB HounSLOW. They are not criminal offence parking tickets as are issued by traffic wardens on behalf of the Met Police in London. The only place aroung Brentford you are likely to get a Traffic Warden ticket your car is along the Great West Road where it is a Red Route.

I would appeal if in your position, there is nothing to lose.

I got a ticket a few weeks ago for parking in the Brook Road North cul-de-sac which is also included in the red route zone. These tickets cost 60 pounds and your chances of appeal are apparently very slim. The wardens make a point of targetting the area around GP on match days for easy pickings.

Thanks for the words of wisdom... shame the topic wasn't up a fortnight ago. Do you think we should suggest to the council they make a donation to the Bees for each ticket issued !

B*stards.
I do think there are loads of safe places if you look for them. Look around the residential areas. I reckon a lot of the residents go out on match days to avoid the crowds and the noise, and they take their cars with them. Certainly, I never have a problem finding a space. I do think it's much easier to find one at 2.35 rather than at 2.15 though. If you want to drive, you've got to come early or late, if you understand what I mean.
