Parking

Sorry, this is a bit boring, but where do you park? I park in the Butts area (habits of 40 years die hard) to stand Brook Rd lower right (habits of 40 years die hard) but it's 60p for 30 mins and being a cautious type I tend to leave home early for the 36 miles in case I'm held up on the M25, so I generally arrive quite early and pay the best part of a fiver to park on a meter. Are there any cheaper areas within easy-ish walking distance?

Park in the library just across from the Butts, Somerfield car park or Brentford Dock, about 10mins walk away

If I told you where to park you might nick my space... ;)

But if you are paying a fiver already you may as well use the Equinox car park. At least it is secured and has stewards patrolling it.

Otherwise if you do arrive early there's usually plenty of street parking even up to 1pm.

Parking

Plenty of street parking on the Ealing side of the A4/M4. Usually something in one of the side roads off Windmill Road. I've been going there for years since I used to leave my bike in my mate's house further up Windmill Road. can't do that now as a) it's a hell of a cycle from Bushey for someone my age and b) his mum sold the house and I don't think the new owners would welcome my bike in their hallway.

Samsung car park always plenty of space. Always park there an take no notice of clamping signs as they only apply to weekday working hours

Parking

Parked on Brook Road today, arriving at about 1.30pm. Always somewhere to park near the Pottery Arms if you can't find anywhere to the west of Ealing Road. I'd say you're daft to be paying money to park in Brentford.

Very good tip. Didn't know that but well noted. Does it get busy? I suppose I should ask - which one's the Samsung building? I've only been going 35 years so I'm just finding my way around. :sneakoff:

Thanks all. Some good tips here to free up some more cash to spend inside GP instead!

Actually not sure if Samsung are still there but it's the big building on the Brentford side of the lights at Boston Manor Rd. I suppose it won't be long before they cotton on and put the barriers up.Not worth them clamping people as alot and too many park there all ready. Always plenty of room though.

I thought it was that one. I may try it in future. :sorted:
