In another thread in this forum I suggested that Mahon leaving may have helped us (in a backwards way) as it meant Rowlands was guaranteed a start in the run in. However it certainly didn't help Evo who was too similar a player to Sidwell to play effectively with him. He spent the last couple of months of the season ensure whether to be the holding midfielder or to play his usual game. Anyway that's my theory.
