What a prospect but injury and lack of fitness did for him. Resurrected for a short spell under Callaghan and scored some great goals but flattered to deceive.

Callaghan got the best out of him. Loved his goal at Walsall when a corner was rolled to him on the corner of the penalty area and he crashed it in. Shame he couldn't sustain his early form for longer though.

I always thought he was too quick for our team and way too angry.

Wasn't the Walsall game the first time we saw Terry Hurlock?
I came back from playing cricket and to my astonishment the game was on the telly and I watched bemused as this bearded Viking marauded through the midfield and thought who the hell are you? Bob Booker told men the players thought the same (he didn't wear socks on the coach) but realised straight away he was already the best player in the team!

PW said he turned up in string vest and massive earrings

Paul Walker earlier delivered a courier here for me , nice fella .
Even asked for my number
So he delivered a courier to you.....??......
Hmmmm......?
What are you using the courier for??....

Anyway, my main memory of PW is not recognising him at an open day in the early 80s, and asking him how much the replica shirts cost, as I thought he was one of the sales people!!!
The look on his face was priceless!!! Not impressed!!! ??

(Shouldn't this be in the News of Former Bees thread??)

There you go. Must have been 75/76? From a time before the punk in me decided that hero worship wasn't the done thing.

Maybe made an exception for Bees players as the same book contains an autograph from Pat Kruse who didn't sign for us until 77?

Pleased to say the book is empty after a few pages indicating that the youthful me had the personality dial turned up to pillock.

Paul was a great lad. Loads of potential but did like a drink. He was at my 18th birthday party which was a Friday night. If I remember I think he came as a sub the next day. Good times.?
