I bloody love Peterborough away, who's up for a beano? (Nocoat you're only invited if you refrain from stacking it down the terrace with me when we score & landing on my head!)

P'boro

Well in that case i will have to consider my options! I vaguely remember almost giving you brain damage that day! But hey it will be worth it if macca scores again, and thank the lord you didnt land on a BeachBall Head:D

P'boro

Might stay over & go out clubbing with the birds from our Peterborough office too if I can shake the woman for the weekend. You're welcome to join me.

P'boro

Your going to get it no coat:mad:

Of course making a stop off in the Letchworth vicinity on the way!!! This is like a home game for me

Get Giro.....

Dirty northern b@rstard!!!

Is this a better day out than notts c, or is going to be a dissapointment every time I travel with the "early morning alco pop army" ?

How long does the train take anyway?

P'boro

Train takes no time, about an hour, P'boro doesn't really stack up against nottingham as a town but there's plenty of good boozers near the ground & I ALWAYS end up wrecked for this one. It's a blindin ground, where you can make a good atmosphere (& smuggle cans of beer in past the stewards like I did last year, he, he!).

The Cherry Tree's a decent boozer near the ground but I am working on finding a decent pub near the station as I have many contacts in Peterborough through work.

It's always one of my favourite away trips & (touch wood) we always seem to get a result there + it's cheap & easy on the train.

Personally I think Notts County will be the better away day. But this is certainly a close second.

If you get a GNER train it will take about 45 minutes. But if you go for the cheap Anglia it will take a bit longer, as it has to pick up all us northern b******s!!!

Can you expand on this..

How much is a pint, likely hood of a bunk up any good strip joints?

P'boro

Beer's cheaper than London (although I'm sure the local yokels bump their prices up on match days). All the p'boro girls I know are up for a laugh but they talk like farmers so your best bet might be the sex shop down the road & an inflatable friend!!! Haven't really touched the town centre on an away trip but I think it's quite lively & there's clubs but a lot of aggro, full of carrot crunchers & pikeys (s'near where the king of the gypsies was buried & the lads & lasses in our offices up there are always getting trouble off of gypsies)

P'boro

So its basically!

a town full of pikeys, its just a town full pikeys, a town full of pikeys, its just a town full of pikeys!

Why are they called the posh then?

Is it because they are good at ****ing?

Can you expand on this..where does it run from, cost time, etc..

Sorry that should have been WAGN (West Anglia Great Northern). The trains start from Kings Cross. There are about two WAGN trains an hour at 21 mins past each hour (takes 73 mins) and 36 mins past each hour (takes 87 mins). The cost without any railcards from London will probably be about £15-20 although this might include the tube.

There is 1 (maybe two if you are lucky) GNER trains from Kings Cross an hour that stop at P'boro. I am not sure of the times, but they will take about an hour, maybe less. Although going on GNER will cost more, but not sure how much. To get times and fares for GNER or WAGN phone National Rail Enquiries on 0845 484 950. Ask for group bookings on GNER, although probably too late to get them. The cheapest ticket on WAGN will probably be a walk on fare as they are not too hot on cheap deals.

You will probably be able to use GNER tickets on WAGN (although check before travelling) but not vice versa

B*gger it...I'm going to drive there. Easy parking.

Do you reckon the pitch is going to be a sh1te as it was last time?

I'll bring me bucket and spade!

P'boro

Cheers for the info above..I'll probably go GNER as per usual, or pinch a lift off someone..cos it seems quite a few are driving to this one.

P'boro

Rumour has it that either Verve or Edwards would be good bars to start in, followed by the Cherry Tree, dunno about afterwards but have been warned that anyone thinking of clubbing it will need to be dressed smartly (shoes etc). Obviously this will not be a problem for the chic supporters of West London's most fashionable team (Unless they require shirts to be ironed ay Dave?).

I am feeling rather partial to the idea of staying out all night & coming back the next day.

P'boro

OI Gaz, don't care how many posts you've got, find yer own avatar you theiving pikie

P'boro

Although i have to say, i wear mine rather better than you :p :p

P'boro

In the user CP option, edit options, right down the bottom, click on change avatar then browse & pick something you've got saved on your computer. You'll have to shrink any pictures you want to 50 pixels square though.

Nope, but then again, I can't remember most things from Notts/Hooters.

Have you got any other piccies of any Hooters girls?

P'boro

Oh & in case anyone's really looking forward to meeting me in Peterborough I should warn those of you who don't know that I am not a big-chested blonde bombshell, or even female for that matter!

P'boro

Cor dear, do I have to nursemaid the lot of you all day then! ;)

Save it in microsoft photo editor (Mine are coming up as gif files if that means anything) then go to image, resize & change the units field to pixels.

Feckin' hell, I've got nothing like that at work, so I'm gonna have to find a picture from the net here, save it onto a floppy, take it home, re-size the bugger, bring it back into work on Monday & then transfer it onto my hard-drive & all for a poxy avatar

P'boro

You can probably do something in Paint, I only did it that way cos when I downloaded that piccy it came across in Microsoft Photo editor. Try saving something in Paint & playing around with it. I'm hopeless with technology so I'm sure if I've managed to get one you can!

P'boro

considering we have completely and utterly veared off the subject of peterborough, i shall tell you that i got a fat old bank loan today (cue Mr logan thanking the lord for not needing to sub me anymore), and also im going to go on the Millenium eye in a couple of hours and then im going to get drunk, then hopefully i will have a bunk up then i will be getting up at 6:45 to go to tranmere.
Roger Irrelevance is alive and well!:laughsm

P'boro

Mr Michael will you wave at me in my office whilst you are on the eye or even better take a brentford flag up there!

My office is next to eye and I can see everything that goes on!

P.S Are you going to try and have a bunk up in the eye?

P'boro

superb! millenium eye and japs eye in one day :)

P'boro

Well as I am stuck at work (although admittedly with a nice three-pint lunchbreak warming me cockles) & have no chance of a bunk-up tonight I will get back onto the subject of Peterborough.

I'm going to go up on Saturday & come back on Sunday, doing this on the day costs £28 but there's cheaper tickets available if you can specify times & book in advance. Does anyone fancy having it large in carrot-cruncherland with me? All are welcome, whether you know me or not. I will hopefully be meeting some lovely ladies from the Peterborough area Saturday night for a bit of clubbing etc so tuck in lads.

P'boro

I would definately be up for a bit night out there, ive got some clients up there who would be up for a night out and I could claim back booze fuelled weekend!

Where are looking at staying?

P'boro

Not sure yet mate, my old man stayed at a nice hotel last year but I'm not sure what it cost him, was probably going to go for a bed & breakfast, as cheap as poss. Will ask at our Cambs. office for suggestions.

P'boro

Ok keep me informed, pay day that friday as well!

AAAVVVVVVVVV it!!

P'boro

Willdo mate,

Unfortunately it's payday today for me so I'll be skint by then, looks like I'll have to make my bank manager another indecent proposal!
