Kings X - 10:10 gets in at 10:55, no fab four tickets available, 17 pounds on the day.

P'boro

Are you sure? We were told £34 for 4 people from Kings X, pay on the day.

P'boro

well hopefully, i didnt look into it in great detail, which i find you need to do cos they wont sell you the best deals without fishing them out, because everyone is going to pay on the day anyway, sounds cheap for a walk on fare but as i say hopefully.:)

P'boro

Definatley sounds like to good a price to be true!

How was the eye?

P'boro

Well I've just phoned up again & they told me provided you travel on WAGN trains it's £34 for 4 people. WAGN trains take a bit longer I think but not that much. The number is 0870 850 88 22 if you want to make further enquires

We are booked on 10.21 as lady apparently couldn't get us any earlier for some reason. Also doesn't tally up with the timetable. But don't really care as tickets work out at £8.50 each :D

It will cost me less than that for a walk on fare from Letchworth. Actually on second thoughts, I probably could literally walk there!!!:D :lol

P'boro

So are you lot all pissing off back to Coxys chippy after the game then?

I have just been faxed details of every decent pub & club in Peterborough by a lovely lady at our Cambridgeshire office, she's even printed off a map for me showing where they all are. Now that is devotion above & beyond the call of duty.

I reckon 11am start in either the Verve or Edwards. Edwards might be a better bet as it's round the corner from 4 other pubs in case it's a 12.00 opener. They're all local to the station too.

Your thoughts?

P'boro

Are you getting the 9.53 from Kings x St Pancreas?

P'boro

Errr, dunno, for someone who started this thread I have been pretty idle in organising anything trainwise, I am gonna pay on the day so yeah, 9.53 sounds good to me. Am still unsure how many mates I am bringing or if I'm staying over the night so it's a bit up in the air at the moment. Hopefully I can find 4 other pissheads to share a fare with but it won't cost that much anyway so I'm not too fussed.

As it is a ticket for 4 people you will only need to find another 3 pissheads:rolleyes:

Besides a little birdie told me that you are loaded and are hiring the whole train:p :) :lol2 :lol

Will she be giving us a personal guided tour as well:lol  ;) :p

P'boro

I'm hoping her lovely daughter will (it was her who pointed out the pubs & clubs). Unfortunately I think her mother's warned her about me.

P'boro

all those going by train post your train times then we can arrange an alcopop party in the fair city centre of peterborough!!also footie on sky so thats an essential part of any pub we choose.

P'boro

I know the Yatley crew and I will be at Kings Cross for the 9.53 train to boro!

What about the rest of the army?

Is West Ham Lee coming again?

It's not that funny though is it, the other 45 games this season are still a pain in the arse to get to compared with everyone else.

P'boro

Fair point Twyford Bee. Although L*ton is only a 20 minute drive and I am used to the travelling now for the other games. Hopefully we will get Stevenage in the LDV 2nd round as that is only 10 minutes down the road!!!

The only b*gger about Letchworth is that it's not at the end of the line so I have to try to stay awake, which can be quite hard sometimes, obviously as a result of tiredness, not because of the amount that I have drank throughout the day!!!

Can't find these trains even on the WAGN timetable on their website.

P'boro

No they don't do they?

Dunno if I'm reading the times wrong or what but I can't see any change?

Dunno anyway, I'm gonna try & get to Kings X by about 20 past nine & see what everyone else is doing.

P'boro

I see. Still haven't got a clue what train I'm getting, looks like I'm spoilt for choice.

P'boro

Day return's £20, can't remember if you've gotta specify times for that. You might also be able to wangle something cheaper if you haggle with the ticket office, I didn't press too hard for details when I rang up cos at the time I was looking at staying over (£28 if you come back the next day). Dunno if that price is specific to GNER or WAGN or something, can't see there'd be much difference between the two though & can't remember who I spoke to on the blower.

P'boro

I'm on the 11:45 King X to Peterborough.

Cost me 24.50

So whats the latest on the pubs then?

Which one?

P'boro

WAGN will sell you 4 adult tickets for the price of 2 - but it doesn't seem that there are any WAGN services. Something wrong with that, surely?????

Still, I don't think the GNER fare is too steep and it's quicker!

£20! Bargain. 3 of us should be heading up I think once the postman has finished his round...

There were (are?) group tickets available from Kings X. £34 for 4 I think. Details further up the thread, if they are still available you can probably collect at Kings X on the day....

Yes, but does it exist? Looking again at the Prophet's train times, they show a change. Where do you change between London and Peterborough?

There is no change between London and Peterborough, it is a straight line (well with the odd bend). Although the WAGN trains will stop at Hitchin to pick up us northerners:)

Talking of WAGN there are definately trains. I think part of the problem might be that the timetables are changing on Sunday. I have got a timetable at home up to and including Saturday, so I will put the times up when I get back from work (yes us northerners do have jobs:) :p
