I actually thought Forshaw's pen against Swindon was the least good of the lot. He clearly spanked it and hoped for the best, could've easily gone straight at the keeper/hit the bar/ballooned over :fishing:

Did anyone watch the Bayern v Chelsea Super cup shoot-out the other day? That really sealed the deal for me on these stupid short run-up penalties we see these days; Cech and Neuer both went the right way for the fifth penalties, but because Shaqiri had a decent run-up and got enough power behind it, his still went in.

Nice to hear there was nobody fighting over the ball for the penalty today. well done Adam Forshaw for keeping a cool head and sticking it in the back of the net.

He has nowscored 2 out of 2 high pressure pens but I would suggest that he varies where he puts the ball next time as the watching scouts will already be taking note of how he takes his kicks

If anything I get the impression it was the opposite. It was all a bit 'after you Marge' by the sounds of it.

Looks like Forshaw has just talked himself into the penalty taking position, permanently.
Would be interested to see how Grigg would have taken one when not trying to be clever.

But two out of two from Adam in the most pressured of scenarios really speak volumes about his ability and temperament

2 key pressure penalties. Well done, as pens are all in the mind. Happy for Adam to blast them but he needs to keep varying. This one was slightly to the keepers right and the Swindon was just to his left .

Watching it on FLS last night and Manish and Leroy referred back to the Donny one and the pressure on Forshaw. Interestingly I thought he did the same as Trotta and blasted it. Shows what a few millimetres the difference can make !

Grigg still should be the penalty taker, but what a pen by forshaw. Should atleast go up the order to 2nd or 3rd.

As far as I am concerned it is Adam's job until he misses or loses confidence.

We now have Forshaw, Grigg, Trotta, Donaldson, Saunders, Craig and Dean who conceivably could take them.

I wonder if the Portugese kid could do so as well?

Grigg missed his 1st... In fact it was actually a good save by the keeper but still a miss.

Think i would leave Forshaw on them until he misses a couple. seems to have alot of composure.

Neither did I. He hit it and hoped for the best. Yesterday's looked a bit more controlled but you'll only get away with smashing it for so long...

Will is number 1 and Adam number 2 - Kevin is not going to get as much playing time as those two but I suspect if Kev is on the pitch when we get a pen he would be a candidate.

Personally I don't care who takes pens as long as they end up in the back of the net. :sorted:

Martin Grainger used to blaze the ball either into the net or a tree behind the goal at Farnborough.
