There's no "e" in Forshaw.

You would think this would be sorted after last season"s cock-ups. Never mind, it should be simple i.e. if Kev's on the pitch then he takes it, if not, then a deputy or 2 appointed before the game. At our levels I would always prefer a non-striker take them, a Kev or a Graham Alexander/Ian Harte type, purely to limit possible damage to confidence.

Yes just the one, Hayes had been on the pitch about 5 mins. Won a penalty for a needless handball and he grabbed the ball and took charge despite Donaldson and Farid both showing that they wanted it as well. Top marks for Hayes confidence in his own ability but execution was woefully lacking. Noticeable that Farid made a point of giving him a consoling pat on the back afterwards whilst CD stayed well clear and was obviously a bit miffed.

At the Fans forum, Rosler said he had someone in mind for the penalties and then Hayes steps up. Just because Sam and Clayton missed the penalties at Stevenage, I would have thought one of our established players would have taken it.

I have always preferred a player who can place the ball in the top corner rather than someone who blasts it ( all too often straight over the bar )
Saunders has such a good record from free kicks that I cannot see why he is not the obvious penalty taker.
I know that with penalty shoot outs it is often maintained that they cannot be practised as the pressure of actual competition cannot be replicated during training, but this is not the case so much with a normal penalty. These are often game changing and we have of late missed far too many.
Nominate a taker and another in case they are not on the pitch at the appropriate time and get them to practice until they achieve at least 75% success rate and make this a regular part of their training routine. Simples!

The Width of a Football goal is 24 feet and the Height to the bar is 8 foot,ie 192 square feet to aim at, therefore there is NO EXCUSE FOR GETTING A SHOT ON TARGET.Plus taking pens must be a part of their training routine???

You could see from the replay that he wanted to take it, as as soon as it was given he ran to get the ball, as if he was saying 'this is mine, I'm taking it.'
